NAUS 15: Summit Focus Groups
1.
Session
Focus group:
Introducing new Instruments
and Investment Strategies
2.
Focus group:
Considerations for a Robust
Performance and Attribution
Solution
Description
Introducing new instruments or investment types can be
challenging. How can we shorten time from idea to
investment – and still have robust technology and operations
support in place? What is needed in SimCorp Dimension to
support and improve this process? What is needed in terms of
system flexibility and configurability to be agile but still
maintain control?
In this focus group session you will be able to discuss these
and similar questions with your peers and SimCorp experts.
The goal is to collaborate and formulate new ideas for
improvements. SimCorp experts will kick off the session and
provide an introduction to some of the current initiatives
underway for improving time-to-market for new products,
including plans for alternative investments.
During this session, you will have an opportunity to discuss
with your peers:
 The top three success criteria when committing to a
technology platform for performance and attribution.
 How important is the IBOR in determining one source
of truth for performance and attribution? (E.g. all
transactions/instruments included on time, all
instruments priced properly, all instruments native, all
corporate actions recorded, all instruments utilized in
performance calculations, etc.)
 How important is it that the IBOR be linked to the
ABOR to close off periods by allowing performance to
run across locked periods and into the live?

holdings/aggregations/prices/benchmarks?
 What does SimCorp Dimension do well today in
performance and attribution?
 In what areas would you like to see improvements in
SimCorp Dimension? What is missing, and what would

Focus group:
System Performance: Sharing
Best Practices for Scalability
Share experiences with peers relating to the
challenges of data management.
Gain insight into the strategies used by other asset
managers to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Learn best practice approaches to effective data
management for reporting.
While an absolute top-of-mind consideration for all clients,
what is meant by system performance varies widely, as does
the approach to address it efficiently. In this focus group
discussion, you will have the opportunity to discuss with your
peers what constitutes good performance for your firm’s
utilization of SimCorp Dimension and share best practices in
addressing scalability. SimCorp experts will also provide
examples of best practices implemented at various client
organizations.
