Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the matchless name of our Saviour and Lord Jesus,
Always it’s been, a blessing filled with sheer joy in my life, to be part of
National gatherings organized by Baptist Youth Fellowship India and
also my privilege and honour to be associated with the BYF India. And
it gives immense pleasure to my heart as we celebrate National Baptist
Youth gathering with our brothers and sisters of Mizoram in Serkawn,
Lunglei, during 23-26 April 2015.
May this event enable every individual find our heritage as Baptists as
we sing and praise our Lord together. May we all rise and shine as we
serve God during the best years of our youth life. I am glad that many
young Baptists will gather in this festival and sincerely pray that this
gathering of youth from across the country might show to the world
that we are united in the Glory of our Lord Jesus Christ and also would
bring great blessings.
May God’s Peace surround everybody who participate in this gathering
and return back with a renewed commitment to the Lord and a
sharper vision.

Greetings in the in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to all the
leaders of MTKP who are labouring hard for the successful National Baptist
Youth Conference 2015 to bring God’s blessings over the young Baptists of
our country.
For me it has been a great joy to be part of the Baptist Youth Fellowship India
(BYFI) for more than a decade now. During this period of time I have come
across in relationship and friendship with many young Baptist brothers and
sisters from different parts of India with their different cultural and traditional
heritage, which has enriched my brotherhood in the Lord. The diverse ethnic,
cultural and traditional aspects of life coming together to proclaim our unity
in the Lord is the greatest spiritual and human resources we have for the
nation. I have also witnessed the great potentialities we have in the young
Baptists in India to give strong leadership to the future of the Baptists in India
in particular as well as to the country in general.
I am glad that many young Baptists in India will gather at Baptist Church of
Mizoram, Serkawn for the National Baptist Youth conference during April 2326, 2015. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the leaders of BCM,
Serkawn who have extended their great hospitality to have this event
organized in their Church and to the leaders and members of MTKP who are
working hard for the success of this event. It is my sincere prayer that the
National Baptist Youth Conference would bring great blessings and
challenges to all those who would gather in the meeting and would be a
blessing to the region too.

Greetings from the National Council of Churches in India- Commission on
Youth (NCCI CoY)!
At the very outset, let me take this opportunity to congratulate The Baptist
Youth Fellowship in India for organizing the Quadrennial National Baptist
Youth Conference 2015 at Baptist Church, Serkawn in Lunglei, Mizoram from
April 23-26, 2015. I understand that National Baptist Youth Conference is
gathering above 1000 young women and men to interact, meditate, and
reflect on various issues. I appreciate all the organizers, co-workers and
especially the President of Baptist Youth Fellowship of India Rev. Samuel
Lalremsanga for the efforts in bringing young people together on one
platform. Special appreciation goes to all those leaders who initiated this
forum for the young people envisioning the role of the youth in the present
day Church. Youth have the potential to offer leadership and creativity to the
Church to enhance its role in the society. It is my prayer that the songs you
sing and learn and the meditations and reflections you make may enrich you
and encourage you to engage in the mission and vision of the Church. May

Brothers and sisters in Christ
In the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and also on behalf of the
APBF, I greet you and the leadership of the BYFI, and the host, the Mizoram
Thalai Kristian Pawl of the Baptist Church of Mizoram, all the resource
persons and every delegate gathered for the National Baptist Youth
Conference being held at Serkawn, Lunglei, Mizoram from April 23 to 26, 2015.
I congratulate you and the leadership of the BYFI for organising this gathering
in the beautiful state of Mizoram. My appreciation also goes to all the
delegates who have come from outside of Mizoram. As the saying goes, the
way to a friend’s home is never too far! I pray and trust that all will go back
challenged and blessed to do greater things with God! Blessed by the love
and hospitality of our Mizo Baptist friends, blessed by seeing what God has
done in this remote state of North-East India.
The theme you have chosen is very appropriate for our day. In the face of
many challenges to society, and the church, be it nominalism in faith,
tribalism, religious intolerance, corruption, the call to mission and evangelism,
traditionalism versus living faith, integrity in leadership and ministry etc. we
need our youth to rise up and be the man and women of God ! The church
and the Christian youth must arise and shine and make a difference for the
blessing of our country and the world we live in, for such a time as this, God
has placed us where we are now!

Greetings from the Asia Pacific Baptist Youth Fellowship!
Allow me to congratulate the Baptist Youth Fellowship of India during this
Quadrennial National Baptist Youth Conference, 2015 being held at Baptist
Church, Serkawn in Lunglei, Mizoram (India).
On behalf of my team at Asia Pacific Baptist Youth Fellowship, with the rest of
Baptist Youths who are spread out to 22 countries, we wish the best of the
conference and pray you will have a great time of worship, fellowship and
learning.
As the theme of the conference reads ‘Rise and Shine’, we are all the more
called to be passionate witness of Christ to the nation that is in peril (Acts 1:8).
We have been called to be faithful disciples of Jesus (Matt. 28:19).We are
reminded again to let our face be bright for the light of the Lord has come
upon us. (Is. 60:1) As believers who have been called by God, if God’s Glory is
seen upon us as Isaiah says, then we ought to shine not just by our lips but
also in our lives. We ought to not just speak but also act Christ’s love and
compassion. We ought to not just look but go and share the Gospel. We
ought to become ‘salt and light’ of the world, to rise and shine for Jesus our
Lord and Savior!
May the conference serve as a catalyst to re--‐kindle, rejuvenate, and stir the
spirit of our young people to go forth and shine for God!

On behalf of the Baptist Church of Mizoram (BCM) I heartily welcome
and greet all the delegates of the ‘National Baptist Youth Conference
2015’.
I am happy that the Mizoram Thalai Kristian Pawl (MTKP), the Youth
Dept of BCM is given the opportunity to host this grand gathering. It is
always a pleasure to worship and praise the Lord with the Youths of
the Church. As we celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Baptist Youth
Fellowship India (BYFI) I congratulate all the past and present leaders
of BYFI for their efforts in giving the Baptist youths in India forum to
share and experience Christian fellowship. I do admire the leaders of
the MTKP in their effort in bringing this National Conference to
Mizoram. I also praise the local church, who, with great determination,
bear all the difficulties in putting together a national gathering which
we never before experienced. It is my wish and prayer that the theme
‘Rise and Shine’ be a new inspiration for the Baptist youths of India as
we come together.
I pray that this conference will bring the Baptist churches in India more
closer together. It is also my desire that this gathering of youths from
all over the country might show to the world that we are united in the
Grace and Glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Mizoram Thalai Kristian Pawl (MTKP)
(The Youth Department of Baptist Church of Mizoram, India)
Origin & Organisation : The Baptist Church of Mizoram is blessed with a
vibrant and active youth ministry. It is our cherished delight to see the
dynamic growth and the enthusiastic activities of the Youths. We recalled
with gratitude the works of the Baptist Missionary Society (BMS, London) for
laying the foundation for this ministry. The Thalai Kristian Pawl (TKP) or
Christian Youth Fellowship was formed on 30th July, 1951. It was later on
recognized by the Presbytery (now called the Assembly) of the Baptist Church
of Mizoram. The Youth Ministry is under the supervision of the Fellowship
Organizations Department (FOD) of the Baptist Church of Mizoram (BCM).
Under this Department the Youth Department has its own Executive
Committee which looks after the minutes affairs of the youth ministry. This
Committee is headed by a full time organizer, who is a appointed by the
Pastoral Committee of the BCM from amongst the ministers of the Church.
Statistics: Under the Youth Department of the BCM, we have 40120 members
(14987 females + 25223 males). We have 396 Units (or local body) under 77
Pastorates. During 2014-2015 the Budget for Youth Ministry was Rs
7,00,000.00 (Rupees Seven lakhs) whereas the total income was Rs
26,34,786.00 (Rupees twenty six lakhs)
Main activities: TKP was established to be the arm and foot of the Church. Its
main activity is to do what the Church instructs it to do. Besides this, at the
Unit and Pastorate levels, they make plans and projects and they are involved
in various activities like – 1) Mission and Evangelism : Out of 77 Pastorates, 74
pastorates and out of 396 Units, 231 units have mission support (giving a fixed
amount of money monthly or yearly for mission works). Pastorate and unit
youth groups and choirs often visit mission fields to have work camps. It
organizes revival meetings, campaigns and also promote personal
evangelism.2) Music: At the local and pastorate level music is an integral part
of the youth ministry. Many units and Pastorate choirs have been formed for
the ministry throughout Mizoram and outside too. Musical trainings have also
imparted many times. 3) Leadership training: Leadership trainings, seminars,
workshop have also been organized in many units and Pastorates. 4) Relief:
Give financial and physical help to the poor and the needy. 5) Worship and
Fellowship: At the unit level, they have service twice a month and have
Fellowship on every Sunday. Besides this, Committee meetings and other
programmes have been organized by them.6) Conferences: MTKP

Conference, where all pastorates and units participate was organized every
year, in which various programmes for spiritual growth were made, and
various resolutions were passed for its activities. Besides an enjoyable
fellowship, conferences created unity among the youths. They were also
motivated to step out for God’s ministry. As the year went by, the number of
delegates increased and so were the cost of the conference. Therefore, since
1986, the conference was organized bi-ennially and from 2010 it is resolved to
have it triennially.
Literature: The MTKP has one monthly journal called Thalai Entu (Light of the
Youth). It has a circulation of 12400 copies (April, 2015). With the generosity of
the members we have a good surplus in its account. Through this magazine,
MTKP is extending its ministry within and outside Mizoram and all the BCM
Missionaries are sent free of cost.
Delegation: MTKP has been actively participating in Regional, National and
International Christian fellowship and conferences. It has been actively
involved in the North East India Christian Council (Youth Assembly) from the
beginning. Many of the leaders in the NEICCYA are from the MTKP. We are
happy to have a Commission member in the National Council of Churches in
India (NCCI) Commission on Youth. Leaders of the MTKP are often invited as
speakers and resource persons in and around the areas. The followings are
some of the big gatherings where the MTKP sent delegations in the last ten
years:1) 14th Baptist Youth World Conference 2004 Hong Kong.
2) Asia Pacific Baptist Youth Conference 2005, Malaysia
3) Baptist Youth World Conference 2008, Germany
4) Asia Pacific Baptist Youth Conference 2009, Hongkong
5) Baptist Youth World Conference, 2012, Singapore
Other Programmes: The MTKP is happy and enthusiastically preparing to host
the Baptist Youth Fellowship India (BYFI) National Baptist Youth Conference
2015 to be held during April 23-26, 2015 at Lunglei, Mizoram. The triennial
conference of MTKP will be held next year on Feb 18-21, 2016 at Lawngtlai.
