A Colorado Electronic Timing system and an 8-lane scoreboard will be used. Warm-up and warm-down lanes will be available. Seating for 1000 spectators. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). The copy of such certification is on file with USA Swimming MEET FORMAT This is a closed league competition. Three day Invitational with timed finals for 12-unders and prelims/finals for 13-14 and Senior. Finals for individual events will consist of a championship and consolation final heat. Coaches are advised to closely supervise their swimmers at all times. NO running or horseplay will be tolerated. RACING STARTS Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by an USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by an USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. RULES This meet will be conducted in accordance with the current USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, except where rules therein are optional and exceptions are stated. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. There may be combined heats in events 400 yards and longer. ELIGIBILITY The meet is open to BRSL members only. All swimmers must be registered with USA Swimming, Inc. Swimmers must be registered prior to entry deadline. There will be no on deck registration available at this meet. Teams must have participated in a minimum of four (4) BRSL meets during the 2012-2013 season in order to participate. Swimmers 19 & older may swim prelims only. They may only swim finals if there are empty lanes. SWIMMERS WITH DISABILITIES ATOM welcomes all swimmers with disabilities as described in the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations, Article 105, to participate in our meets. Coaches entering swimmers with disabilities that require any accommodations are required to provide advance notice in writing to the Meet Director by the entry deadline accompanying their meet entry file, including the need for any personal assistants required and/or registered service animals. Failure to provide advance notice may limit ATOM’s ability to accommodate all requests. You will receive confirmation when your entries are received. There will be no “on deck” entries available at the meet. All relay swimmers including alternates must be listed on the Meet Entry Forms and pay the NCS Travel Fund Surcharge. Only properly completed entry forms with payment of all fees will be accepted. A swimmer’s age on the first day of the meet will determine their age for the entire meet. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the meet director and will not be seeded. ***Swimmers 19 and over may enter the meet. They may not score and may only swim in the consolation final heat if there are empty lanes ENTRY LIMITATIONS Swimmers may swim a maximum of 3 individual events plus 2 relays per day. Swimmers will be seeded and swim from slowest to fastest unless otherwise indicated. All non-conforming times will be seeded last in rank order. NCS Meet Announcement Template, September 23, 2012 CHECK-IN A positive check-in, located under the warm pool score board, will be required for the following events: • Individual events 400 and longer • All 13-14 and senior A relays Check in for individual events are due 30 minutes prior to the conclusion of warm up. Check in for 13-14/Senior A relays are due at 10:00AM. All 13/14 and Senior A Relays will be swum with finals. No exceptions. The NCS Scratch Rule is in effect for positive check in and prelims and finals events. Swimmers who are not positively checked in, will not be allowed to swim. Swimmers who positively check in and do not appear for that event will be scratched from their next scheduled event. SCORING USA Swimming scoring system for 8 lane pools through 16th place. · Individual events: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4-3-2· Relay events: 40-34-32-30-28-26-24-22-18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2; only 1 relays per gender may score for each team. AWARDS Medals will be awarded for 1st through 3rd in individual events and ribbons for 4th through 8th place. Relays will be awarded medals for 1St and ribbons for second and third. Only one relay team from each team may score. High Point Trophies will be awarded for 1st through 3rd for each age group male and female . Team Awards will be given for 1st through 3rd combined. COACHES All coaches on deck must be registered and certified with USA Swimming. Meet Management will require all coaches to show proof of certification/registration and shall prominently display their registration cards at all times while on deck. There will be a coach/general meeting at the date and time listed in the Deadline and Meeting Summary. Other meetings may be held at the meet referee’s discretion. Meet Management requests that at least one coach representative from each team attend all coaches meetings. Page 4 of 9 NCS Meet Announcement Template, September 23, 2012 OFFICIALS/TIME RS/ VOLUNTEERS There will be a need for officials. ATOM welcomes and encourages anyone willing to volunteer to contact the Meet Referee by email prior to the meet or sign in once you arrive at the meet. All officials on deck must be registered and certified with USA Swimming and will be required to show proof of certification/registration. Officials shall prominently display their registration cards at all times while on deck. Any official’s assistance will be greatly appreciated and will help to ensure a great meet for the swimmers. Official briefings will be held in the hospitality area after warm-ups on Friday and as needed during the meet. Each team will be asked to provide timers for finals sessions based on the number of swimmers they have entered in the meet. Swimmers must provide their own timers and counters for the 1000 and 1620 free. Swimmers must provide their own counter for the 500 free. HOSPITALITY/ CONCESSIONS There will be a hospitality area open to all coaches and officials. Refreshments will be available via food truck vendors on the MCAC property. WARM-UP General warm-up for 45 minutes and specific warm-up the last 15 minutes. Warm-ups shall be conducted according to the NCS Safety Program and shall be supervised at all times. Coaches are advised to closely supervise their swimmers at all times. Warm up lane assignments will be distributed to coaches via email, posted on deck and included in coach’s packet.
