Big 8 Conference Swimming Championships 2015 Meet Information Dates- Thursday – Saturday April 16-19, 2015 Prelims begin daily at 10:00am Finals begin daily at 5:00pm and 4:00pm on Saturday. Site- American River College 4700 College Oak Drive Sac Ca 95841 Rules- The 2015 NCAA rules for Swimming and Diving except as modified by the Swimming and Diving Supplement of the CCCAA State Athletic Code. Pacific swimming warm up safety procedures will be enforced- please see your Big 8 Supplement for further details. Seeding- Preliminaries and finals follow NCAA Rule 5: Eight (8) lanes for individual and relay swimming events. Eight (8) lanes for relay event prelims relay finals (8-4) Entry Procedure- All entries should be entered via Swim Phone. Entries will open Monday April 6 and close Sunday April 12, 2015 at 5:00pm. Number of Events- Each participant is permitted to compete in a maximum of seven (7) events. One-meter and threemeter diving are considered separate events. As per NCAA rule 3-2: Each institution shall be allowed a maximum of one scoring team per relay event. Once an institution has been entered in a relay event, any eligible competitor from that institution may be designated by his/her coach to participate in the preliminary heats, swim off, and/or finals of that event as a member of that institution’s relay team. For relays, only actual participation in the preliminaries, swim off and/or finals shall be counted against the 18 competitors, identified prior to meet start allowed in each institution or against the maximum number of events in which a contestant is permitted to compete. The names of the designated relay participants must be submitted to the appropriate official at a specified time before the start of the race, heat, swim off or final. Relay Participant- The names of four (4) swimmers in each relay event must be delivered to the Meet Manager at the start of each session. B relays may ONLY be swum in the PM sessions, the swim counts as a swim for each participant. Entry Fees- $400 per school due prior to start of competition. Big 8 Conference Swimming Championships 2015 Meet Information Pg2 Parking-- Wednesday Warm Ups Please park in designated team parking with issued parking passes. There will be parking passes in your packet pick up at check in. You will be ticketed if you are not parked where designated for swim meet marking. We can NOT fix your tickets. Please email if you would like pool time on Wednesday 3/15. Team Packets- Team packets will be available Wednesday evening and Thursday morning upon payment. In each team packet will be deck passes for each participant. These will be required for entrance at each session. Please ask athletes to have these visible upon entrance. Team Areas- Each team will have a designated team area. Within your area we will post order of events and have a trash can. Please ask your team to help with trash pick-up and keeping the deck clear. Only athletes and coaches will be permitted in the team areas. Admission- Daily Admission- Concessions- There will be a light snack bar in addition to a Dutch Brothers truck located behind the pool. We have requested Jolyn to attend 1 afternoon session and several other vendors. T-shirts- $15 for t-shirts and $20 for tank tops while they last- cash only.
