Parking & Vehicles:
All vehicles will be parked in the main
parking lots. Vehicles will be allowed in the
Fairgrounds to carry equipment to
campsites and to facilitate exhibit set-up
beginning Friday evening at 5:00 PM.
Vehicles will not be allowed to remain
inside the fence once they are unloaded. All
vehicles must be out of the area by 8:45PM
on Friday night.
The gates will be open at 7:00 AM on
Saturday morning. Vehicles must be
removed from the fairgrounds to the
parking lot by 9:00 AM.
Vehicles will be allowed into the
fairgrounds after 4:30 PM on Saturday for
those units not camping Saturday night.
Medical:
There will be a First Aid station at the Main
Exhibit Building. Camping units should
provide their own first aid in their campsite.
Security:
Explorer units, working with Law
Enforcement Sponsors, will provide security
patrols within the fairgrounds.
DIRECTIONS:
GWINNETT COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS
From I-85 north or south take Exit 108
Sugarloaf Pkwy. Take a left off of the exit
heading towards Lawrenceville/Grayson for
approx. 8 miles. The fairgrounds are on your
left as you cross Hwy 124.
RESERVATIONS:
Use the registration form to reserve an exhibit
space, a campsite, or both. You will receive
your exhibit assignment upon arrival at the
Scout Expo. Please e-mail questions regarding

The Fee Structure for the Expo is:







Camping $10 per person for 2 nights (includes patch)
Saturday admission $ 5 per person
Scout or Scouter in Uniform No Charge
Admission with Camp Card Free up to 4 people
Patches $ 3 each
Booth (please register) No Charge
All Units should check in with the Scout Expo
Headquarters at the Main Exhibit Building to
confirm their site.
 All campsites and exhibit sites will be assigned by the
event staff.

What is the Scout Expo?
Friday, April 24
Join thousands of Scouts, friends, family and
the general public for a unique display of
Scouting tradition, games, outdoor programs,
and local community vendors.
 5:00–9:00 PM Camping Units Arrive/Booth Set-Up
 6:00–9:00 PM Apalachee and Sweetwater
Districts Pinewood Derby Registration
 8:45 PM SPL/Leader meeting for camping units
 9:00 PM Movie
 11:00 PM Taps/Lights Out
Facilities:
Saturday, April 25
The buildings and facilities of the Gwinnett County
Fairgrounds are being used for this event. Buildings will be
open Friday evening after 5:00PM for set-up. All exhibit
buildings will be open at 7:00 AM on Saturday and closed
at 4:30 PM on Saturday. There will be no access to any
building, other than the restroom building, after 4:00 PM
on Saturday.
 7:00–9:00 AM Set Up Exhibits
Exhibits:
 All units attending the Scout Expo are asked to prepare
an exhibit or activity that can be enjoyed by visitors and
other Scouts. Please feature your talents and skills in an
interactive booth. It is an opportunity to show all of the
great things we do in the Northeast Georgia Council.
 If the exhibit displays skills that are associated with
advancement (i.e. a merit badge or belt loop) Scouts
should be prepared to demonstrate and assist other
Scouts in performing the skills.
 All exhibits should follow the Guide to Safe Scouting for
safety.
 Units may not sell food due to health and safety
concerns. Units are not allowed to sell or conduct
fundraising at the Scout Expo.
Camping & Meals:
 There will be a concession stand available on Saturday,
during the show hours, for the purchase of food – hot
dogs, hamburgers, Papa John’s pizza, delicious BBQ and
snack foods. Limited concessions will be available
during the movie on Friday night.
 Units camping for the event may cook in their
campsites, but no ground fires are allowed. Cleanup of
cooking gear may not be done in the restroom facility.
This incredible event will consist of live
demonstrations and exhibits, conducted by
hundreds of Scouts of all ages of the Northeast
Georgia Council in a live, interactive display of
Scouting Skills and Outdoor Activities. Special
events from other community organizations
and businesses will also be on display.

Sunday, April 26
 10:00 AM All Camping Units Depart
 Advancement opportunities will be offered
for all age levels throughout the expo.
 Visit other booths for Great Program Ideas
and loads of Fun and Games!
 Packs, Troops, Crews, Posts, & Ships are
available to camp all weekend long!
 Free movie under the stars Friday night.
 Venturing Challenge/Obstacle Fun Run and
camping in the Venturing Village!
