This year it is our intent to ENGAGE every member during this time. We hope that during this conference you will learn a new way to engage in Honduras through community, families, NGOs’, and our speakers from the Honduran government. Due to many circumstances beyond our control, including financial and travel complexities for many, our Program Agenda may vary from that which you are receiving at present. If there is an unavoidable cancellation we will substitute a presenter whose topic will be of interest and importance to your mission. Thank you for your understanding. This dinner is a fund raiser in partnership with the office of the Vice President to complete a water project in Orica HN. Dinner will be $60.00 per plate. NE Conyers, GA 30013 All spaces must be reserved by 66:30 :30 PM May 15, 2015 FRIDAY MAY 29, 2015 8:30 – Welcome Our Executive Director Jimmy Rhoton will open the conference with a message of Welcome! 8:40 – Prayer Pastor Sheldon Landy lives in Conyers, GA and has spent many hours preaching in Honduras. We are honored to have Sheldon launch our 2015 conference with a word of prayer. 8:55 – Honorable Vice President Ricardo Alvarez. We all have noticed many changes in Honduras since Ricardo Alvarez took the position of Vice President. Ricardo along with President Orlando Hernadez have great plans for the country! We are looking forward to hearing how we can engage in these plans Friday morning. 9:20 - Alejandra Chang - Directora General de Control de Franquicias Aduaneras at Secretaría de Finanzas (SEFIN) Alejandra will be joining us to explain the new tax law. This comes at a time when many NGOs are seeking to learn more about this law and how the new tax will impact their ministry. Alejandra is in a position to bring a clear explanation to the tax law and logistics in Honduras. 10:15 - Break FRIDAY MAY 29, 2015 10:30 – Juan Jose Vides Juan has traveled to Orlando with Alejandra to bring his expertise and experience to our conference. Juan will follow up where Alejandra left off before break. 11:00 - Karla Radka - VP of Community Based Care In January 2015, Karla, a native of Honduras, represented the United States on two panel discussions sponsored by the World Economic Forum. In conjunction with leaders from across the globe, she spoke on the importance of empowering young people through meaningful career opportunities. Karla will be speaking to us about how we can make a collective impact on Honduras. 11:30 – Lunch We will break for 1.5 hours so you can enjoy time with your family and friends. There are many restaurants in walking distance. Please enjoy your time and we will see you at 1:00. 1:00 – Welcome back by our Board Chair Murray Van Lear 1:10 - Lucrecia Álvarez (wife of Ricardo Álvarez) Lucrecia will share her goal of become an Ambassador for NGOs coming into Honduras. Lucrecia is known by many for having a big heart for her people and country. She supports her husband Ricardo in making an impact on the country through social programs. FRIDAY MAY 29, 2015 Breakout Sessions from 1:30 to 3:00 following with a 15 min. break. Choose from one of the following: Break Out Session #1 - Room TBD Well - Well – such a deep subject. Joe Haynes with Lonestar Drills will host this session. The need for clean drinking water is something that we all face. How will we find water? How will we drill the well? What do we need to drill a well!! This is the subject that will be discussed at this Break Out session. Break Out Session #2 - Room TBD A long walk home - Kevin Arita will be sharing his journey from Honduras to the United States. He will be sharing what he sees as the current crisis in Honduras. Kevin will be speaking on what the US can do to help the economic and social drivers that push the children to the US. Break Out Session #3 - Room TBD Sarah Tellis is the founder and Executive Director of True Justice International. This break out session is the opportunity for your NGO to ask questions about anti-trafficking and adoption. 3:15 – Jill Van Beek is COO of Association For A More Just Society Jill will be educating us on how we can become more involved in promoting the interests of the most poor in legislative projects, defend the rights of the most vulnerable in judicial processes, increase the participation of churches to practice the Biblical teachings on justice to the people of Honduras. 5:00 – Closing Prayer. 8:00 - Chapel Service SATURDAY MAY 30, 2015 8:30 – Welcome Tim Hines is the Executive Director of Torch Ministries. Tim will open the conference this morning with a message of Welcome! __________________________________________________________ 8:45 – John Mattica - Opening Prayer John Mattica is the President of Honduran Fellowship of Missionaries and Ministries. John is also a pastor at CCI in Tegucigalpa. John will open the conference in prayer and a message on unity. 9:15 – Raul Matamoros - One Stop Shop Coordinator Raul has been instrumental in working with Networking Honduras the past year. During this conference Raul will be sharing the updates to the One Stop Shop. This will be a time to learn more about the website and how this site can assist NGOs 10:30 – Jeony Ordenoz – Founder of AFE Jeony has been working in the Linda Miller community at the trash dump for many years. Jeony has been bringing a lot to the table working with these kids. We look forward to Jeony sharing his expertise on how to engage the youth of all walks in Honduras. SATURDAY MAY 30, 2015 11:15 - Tim Hines serves on the Board of Directors with Networking Honduras. Tim is also the President of IRC and works with Torch Ministries. Tim’s relationships with NGOs and the government have been instrumental to Networking Honduras. 11:30 – Lunch on our own 1:00 – REALLedge entrepreneurship training of teachers in Honduras Dr. Paul DeLargy, founder and president of Real LEDGE, is recognized as a world leader in entrepreneurship education. Real LEDGE was founded in 1985 and has a successful history of initiating and enhancing economic development through entrepreneur education, establishing school-based enterprises, and training nearly 2,000 teachers worldwide. 2:00 – Break We will move to Jam Sessions after break SATURDAY MAY 30, 2015 This year we are adding Jam Sessions to our agenda. This session is designed to bring groups together to discuss best practices. This year we will have three sessions that you can choose from: Break Out Session #1 _ Room TBD Do you need help with your NGO? Are you experiencing problems with shipping? Do you understand the new laws? Come to this session to get help with your questions. Break Out Session #2_ Room TBD Human Trafficking, the Northern Triangle, and understanding how we can really help will be discussed in this group. Break Out Session #3_Room TBD Entrepreneurship and vocational education is something that has to be improved in Honduras. This session is to assist NGOs in learning more about what they can do to improve the economy in Honduras. 4:10 – Emilisa Callejas – Consul General of Honduras in Atlanta Emilisa has been heavily involved in Networking Honduras from the beginning. She is very aware of needs of her country and the NGOs that assist with those needs. We look forward to hearing from Emilisa as we close out our day. 5:00 – Closing Prayer Sunday May 31, 2015 8:30 – Welcome Bill Drury led the conference committee this year.
