The Canadian ASD Leadership Summit is being

The Canadian ASD Leadership Summit is being held in Ottawa on March 30-31st, 2015 at the Shaw
Centre. This is the first leadership summit of its kind in Canada and will bring together key
stakeholders from across the country to discuss the needs of Canadians living with ASD, current
autism research, and services.
The objectives of the summit include:
1. To understand current ASD surveillance activity in Canada, led by the Public Health
Agency of Canada.
2. To better understand the gaps in services at the National, Provincial and Territorial levels
through the National ASD Needs Assessment.
3. To share and discuss research and evidence informed practice at the National, Provincial
and Territorial levels.
4. To bring all levels of government together with leaders from across the country to begin a
conversation to better support all Canadians living with ASD and their families.
With prevalence rates on the rise, the urgency of coming together to better understand the needs of
this population is critical to ensuring cost-effective investments in services across the lifespan. These
investments occur at the Federal and Provincial levels of government and within local communities.
Your role in government is critical to these discussions.
CASDA will be unveiling the research and data from the Autism in Canada –National Needs
Assessment Survey at the Leadership Summit. Together we will begin a Next Steps conversation
with government, researchers and community stakeholders across the country.
