To Whom It May Concern – Thank you for your interest in supporting Smiles For FREEdom! Smiles For FREEdom is meant to allow dental offices to come together and provide free dental services for an entire day to members of our armed services, veterans, and/or community first responders. Sala Family Dentistry is proud to host this first Annual Smiles For FREEdom event on Friday May 8th! Participants for this day will be a group of local service members and/or veterans preselected by Sala Family Dentistry. Services provided will be appointment based between the hours of 8am and 5pm and the participants will not need to stand in a line for services through the day. The office will be closed to general appointments on this day. All services provided by Sala Family Dentistry on this day will be FREE! All work and care provided by members of Sala Family Dentistry will be provided as volunteers for free. All work provided by Sala Family Dentistry will be provided with the highest standards of care and quality that we would provide on any given day to our wonderful patients. Free dental health services provided this day will include a combination of diagnostic services, cleanings, fillings, some extractions, and other possible dental health services based upon individual needs. *Please note that we will not be able to address denture or partial denture issues or complicated extractions on this day.* Smiles For FREEdom is in application to be registered as a non profit organization. At this time we are still looking to fill some remaining appointment slots for our veterans. If you are an armed services veteran and are interested in receiving some free dental services through the Smiles For FREEdom Event on May 8th please contact the Event Coordinator listed below. We welcome the rest of the community to get involved on this day in supporting members of our armed services by stopping by our office on Friday May 8th between 8am and 5pm and writing a letter to a member of our troops. A table out front with supplies will be available. We will also be collecting donations for Operation Gratitude which collects items needed for military care packages. We will be collecting blank cards or stationary, small plush animals/beanie babies, personal care travel sized items. All items are donated as care package items for our deployed troops. Sala Family Dentistry has been serving the Reno/Sparks community since 1974! Dr. Michael Sala founded the practice and later passed it on to his two sons. Dr. Jason and Dr. Todd Sala are fourth generation Nevadans and believe strongly in giving back to the community. Since 2008 they have donated over $600,000.00 to the Reno/Sparks community! In 2014 we were proud to host our Sixth Annual Free Day of Dentistry for the surrounding community. In those six years we have treated over 660 patients and provided over $325,000.00 in dental care for free! The Annual Free Day of Dentistry is one of our favorite days of the year and we strongly wanted to involve help for our local service members. Smiles For FREEdom was created for this very reason!
