New Glarus Police Department News Releases May 10, 2015 May 4th EMS CALL At 2:34 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call at the New Glarus Elementary School. ASSIST AGENCY At 3:03 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Department with a 911 hang-up call in the W5600 block CTH H. TRAFFIC At 5:46 p.m., Police received a traffic complaint in regards to vehicles always speeding on 2nd Street south of 6th Avenue towards CTH H. May 5th ACCIDENT At 6:18 a.m., Police received a complaint in regards to a reported Hit & Run Accident to a 2010 Ford Explorer owned by General Communications that was legally parked in the 10 block 2nd Street. The offending vehicle fled the scene. EMS CALL At 8:50 a.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call on 4th Avenue. LOCKOUT At 11:10 a.m., Police assisted a citizen that had locked their keys in their vehicle. Entry was gained into the vehicle without any damage to the vehicle ASSIST AGENCY At 8:50 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the Monticello Police Department with a traffic stop on W. Coates Avenue at STH 69. CUSTODY ISSUE At 10:13 p.m., Police responded to 5th Street for a child custody issue between parents. May 6th CHECK WELFARE At 7:04 p.m., Police responded to a 2nd Street address for a report of a female subject that wanted to harm herself. The subject was interviewed and a Social Worker was contacted. It was determined that she was not a threat to herself and no further action was taken. May 7th DRIVING ISSUE At 9:53 a.m., Police received a complaint in regards to a traffic complaint of a subject following a vehicle around town. The vehicle was not located and this incident is still under investigation. CHECK WELFARE At 5:02 p.m., Police were dispatch to the 1000 block of 3rd Street for an unknown disturbance as there was yelling occurring. Police arrived on scene and subjects were upset at their vehicle supposedly because it broke down and they were awaiting for someone to arrive home to look at the issue. Page 1 of 3 New Glarus Police Department News Releases May 10, 2015 ACCIDENT At 4:06 p.m., Police responded to the New Glarus Brewery, 301 Cow Path Lane, for a report of a 2-vehicle accident. An investigation revealed that a 2006 Coach Platinum Motor Home being operated by Wilma C. Rolston, 83, South Bend (IN) side swiped a legally parked 2015 Nissan Pathfinder belonging to Ean Holdings LLC out of Oklahoma. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. There were no injuries reported. THEFT At 4:45 p.m., Police received a complaint in regards to the theft of a sweatshirt from the High School. A suspect was identified and the case in still under investigation. 911 CALL At 5:20 p.m., Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Windlach Street for an open 911 call. An investigation revealed that there was no emergency and the number was accidentally dialed. PARKING At 5:43 p.m., Police responded to the 800 block Elmer Road for a parking complaint. EMS CALL At 10:49 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call at the New Glarus nursing Home. May 8th CHECK WELFARE At 9:36 a.m., Police received a complaint of some yelling coming from a residence in the 400 block 6th Avenue. Contact was made with the tenants in the apartment and everything was fine. ASSIST AGENCY At 11:05 a.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the Madison Police Department with attempting to locate a subject in New Glarus. The subject was not located. TRAFFIC At 5:20 p.m., Police cited Justin D. Kainz, 23, Monroe, for Operating while Suspended after observing him operate a motor vehicle on 8th Street at 6th Avenue. SOLITICING At 6:07 p.m., Police took a report of a male subject going door-to-door attempting to sell installations for new roofs on residence. The area was checked and the subject was not located. LOCKOUT At 10:30 p.m., Police assisted a citizen that had locked their keys in their vehicle in the 700 block of 2nd Avenue. The vehicle was unlocked without damaging it. May 9th CODE VIOLATION At 2:17 p.m., Police received a complaint in regards to someone that had mowed a large amount of grass clipping into the roadway. Contact was made and the grass clippings were properly cleaned up. ASSIST AGENCY At 8:29 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the Green County Sheriff’s Department with a report of an injured deer in the N7800 block STH 69. Johnson, 19, New Glarus, for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Valid Driver’s License (Expired) on 7th Avenue at 5th Street after stopping her for an equipment violation. EMS CALL At 10:27 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call at the New Glarus Nursing Home. May 10th LOCKOUT At 1:14 p.m., Police assisted a citizen at the New Glarus Brewery that had locked their keys in their car. The vehicle was unlocked and there was no damage to the vehicle. 911 CALL At 3:45 p.m., Police responded to the 10 block of 6th Avenue for a 911 hang up. An investigation revealed that it was a pocket dial and there was no emergency. EMS CALL At 5:04 p.m., New Glarus Police Department assisted the New Glarus Area EMS with a medical call at the New Glarus Nursing Home.
