It is informed by the Eating Disorder Framework for Wales and the Welsh Government Together for Mental Health Delivery Plan. Assertiveness Skills (Agored Cymru) - The course aims to help students to develop assertiveness skills. (Please note that completion of both the Understanding Eating Disorders and Assertiveness Skills courses learners will achieve an Award in Personal Social Education) Recognising and dealing with stress (Agored Cymru) - The course aims to help students develop their knowledge & understanding about the signs of stress. Self-Advocacy (Agored Cymru) - The course aims to provide students with the knowledge to their develop self-advocacy skills. Decision Making (Agored Cymru) -The course helps students develop a knowledge and understanding about decision making including techniques, processes and potential problems. Please note that all of the above courses are being delivered in partnership with the WEA Youth Depression Busting & Youth Mental Health First Aid (Please note that to enrol on these courses participants must be aged 18-25 as it is delivered within the youth projects) The courses aim to support the student develop skills and strategies to help you manage your symptoms, regain control of your life and move toward recovery. Depression Busting is delivered by tutors who have personal experience of depression. *Please note that the course will be delivered in partnership with Journeys *Please note that New Horizons has the right to cancel courses at their discretion. The delivery of courses is dependent on the number of people enrolled. Each course requires a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 10 participants. Enrolment is on a first come first served basis 6 6 Coping with Life Courses and Workshops Who is the course/workshop for – anyone, people like you and me… Course Aims - Designed to help people cope with everyday life stresses. Each workshop provides the tools and techniques to assist people with recovery and help build coping strategies. Designed to help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. Sessions involve the use of case studies, so you are not expected to reveal issues or concerns of your own in the group setting. Care and Treatment Planning Who is this course for – anyone using services, i.e. CMHT's. Course Aims - This course will put people at the heart of their Care and Treatment, to help individuals explore choices and make informed decisions. Service users now have two important rights: The right to have a Care Coordinator appointed to work with them to coordinate their care and treatment. The right to an individual and comprehensive Care and Treatment Plan, to assist their recovery. Working in groups. The program will be delivered flexibly over six weeks in your community Agored Accredited Training Level 1 Prepare to Care Who is this course for - carers and those with an interest in caring for others. Course Aims - The purpose of this course is to provide an induction to the principles and values of care when working with adults at risk in Wales. Working in groups. The course will be delivered flexibly over six weeks in your community – Agored Accredited Training Level 3 All workshops and courses are delivered in a group setting, and are delivered by qualified, and experienced friendly facilitators.
