POSITION: Dome Operator DEPARTMENT: Volvo Ocean Race Experience AREA: DOME: Race-show Studio & Cinema PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to ensure that people have a good experience while visiting the Dome, Race-show Studio or Cinema, and keeping the public flow efficient and safe. EXPECTATIONS AND LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  Sailing experience and interest in all aspects of the Volvo Ocean 65 one-design boat, to explain the visitors all interesting details of the cross section (script will be provided)  Managing the queue (the entrance and exit flow)  Ensuring people are seated in an efficient way before the race-show or movie starts Providing information  Keeping the place tidy and clean (no food and drinks are allowed inside)  Make sure that there will be no damages to the exhibition elements and equipment During bump-in and bump-out some unpacking and packing tasks will be required  Explanation in local language emergency procedures before the race-show or movie starts Keeping and eye on the public during the show for safety matters  Ensuring priority access for all accredited media. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: This role will require standing for an extended period of time SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:  Sailing knowledge and understanding Languages are very desirable  Social skills (outgoing and enthusiastic) Polite and professional  Service-minded  Helpful and positive ORIENTATION AND TRAINING: Training will be given 1 day before the opening of the Race Village and each day the local volunteer manager will explain the daily tasks. Ideal would be if the same volunteers manage these experience element.
