Bacarella, Lawrence Set for Board Recognition for Attaining Tenure
Two Cypress College faculty — Russ Bacarella, of Automotive Technology, and Roberta Lawrence, from the Dental Hygiene Program — will be recognized by the Board of Trustees on Tuesday night for their milestone of attaining tenure. The Board meets at 5:30 p.m. on April 28 at the Anaheim Campus.

Strong Engagement at Parent Night Outreach Event
Participation from the College's instructional divisions and the Associated Students was a highlight of Thursday's annual Parent Night outreach event. One of the signature new-­‐
student outreach events each year, Parent Night drew an engaged 250 guests. The event is an important first step toward becoming a Cypress Charger. Alfredo Lopez-­‐Gallegos, from Western High School, was the winner of the $300 Parent Night Scholarship.
Classified Employees Recognized for Their Role in Student Success
College Sprit was the theme of today’s Classified Appreciation Luncheon. The annual event recognizes and honors Cypress College employees who work in vital, non-­‐teaching positions. Summer Class Schedule Available Online, Due in Print This Week
The 2015 Summer Schedule of Classes is now available online. The print version is scheduled to be on sale at the Bookstore this week.

Explosions and other fun (and safe) activities highlighted a STEM Program “Chemistry Show” for 6th grade students from a neighboring school.
Sexual Assault Awareness Month to Close with ‘Clothesline Project’ and
Vigil
Sexual Assault Awareness Month closes on Thursday, April 30 with the Clothesline project at the pond, from 11 a.m.-­‐4 p.m., and a flashlight vigil, from 6:30-­‐8 p.m., at the campus track. The flashlight vigil will be emceed by Professor Virgil Adams and food and music will be featured.
More Information Sundance Network’s Tiphany Adams Speaks on Diversity Issues
The Diversity Committee hosted a Conversation with Tiphany Adams of the Sundance Network’s “Push Girls” television series on Wednesday, April 22. Her well-­‐received presentation addressed issues of ability awareness, LGBTQ, race, ethnicity, and gender, as well as the overcoming of personal/professional obstacles.
