SALIENT DETAILS OF THE MSME NAUKRI PORTAL
Background:
The Portal, the first of its kind in the country in realm of blue collar jobs was
launched on July 11, 2014. The Portal was indigenously developed by NIESBUD,
NOIDA and provides a common platform for match-making by both the Employers
and Job Seekers.
Current Features
 Free on-line registration by the unemployed persons and search by the
Employers.
 Free on-line hosting of job requirements by the Employers.
 State/District-wise number of Job-seekers.
 Trade-wise number of trained persons.
 Registration facility also available for skilled/trained persons not trained by
any of the organizations of the Ministry of MSME.
 Trade-wise information on the searches by the Employers and also total
searches by each of the Employers.
 Registration facility available for more than 125 trades/skills.
 Location-wise search of the job requirements by the unemployed.

Value Addition since Launch
 Intensive campaigns among both the target groups for increasing
registration on the Portal.
 Tie-up with Monster.com for using its skills mart search facility to showcase
the details of the Job Seekers registered on the MSME Portal.
 Understanding with Team-Lease Skills University for increasing
employability and assisting placement of the registered persons.
 Operationalization of a Helpline at NIESBUD inter-alia for assisting the
target groups to make maximum use of the Portal.
 Introduction of a compulsory Orientation Module of 4-5 days covering Soft
Skills (preparation of Curriculum Vitae, Interview Techniques etc.) in all the
ESDPs being organized under the ATI Scheme, after formal completion of
the prescribed training.
Future Additions
 State/District and Trade-wise details of the Job Seekers.
 Other Organizations of the Ministry to be encouraged to make use of the
Platform.
 Conclave of the Employers to receive their feedback about the Portal and
ways to improve its functioning/ effectiveness.
 Mechanism to ascertain as to how many times a particular unemployed has
been referred to.
 Counselling to unemployed as to improve their employment prospects
through further orientation in soft skills etc.

 Development of a standard format of Curriculum Vitae for uploading on the
Portal for imparting uniformity to the uploaded data and ease of reference by
the Employers.
 Approaching the Industry Associations etc. for encouraging their member
constituents to avail the services of the Portal.
 The above is expected to be achieved by April 30, 2015.
Quantitative Expansion
Focusing upon qualitative improvement of the Portal as against the quantitative
expansion, while no physical targets for increasing the Registration on the Portal
are stipulated, it is estimated that during the next 2 years, the Institute would
achieve the figure of 4 lakh registrants on the Portal.
Future Vision
The Portal is intended to be developed as an exclusive one-stop institutional
framework of match-making providing accurate and reliable data in respect of
skilled/trained persons covering the entire gamut of trades/skills throughout the
length and breadth of the country.
