TIME TO GET INTO THE POOL!!
Please participate in KEVIN’S POOL as we all honor Kevin.
Here’s how the pool works:
Purchase several box numbers (#1-80) for $50/number. The night of the gala, you and two other
lucky winners will split the pool. The 1st winner will receive 25% of the pool, the 2nd winner
will receive 15% of the pool, and the 3rd winner will receive 10% of the pool.
So what does all of this mean?
If all 80 boxes (numbers) sell for $50/box, then the total pool of $4,000 will be split in the
following way:
> TBS gets 50% of the pool = $2,000
> 1st place winner takes home 25% of the pool = $1,000
> 2nd place winner takes home 15% of the pool = $600
> 3rd place winner takes home 10% of the pool = $400

FRANCE, 1939: In the quiet village of Carriveau, Vianne Mauriac says goodbye to her husband, Antoine, as he heads for the Front. She doesn’t believe that the Nazis will invade France...but invade they
do, in droves of marching soldiers, in caravans of trucks and tanks, in planes that fill the skies and drop
bombs upon the innocent. When a German captain requisitions Vianne’s home, she and her daughter
must live with the enemy or lose everything. Without food or money or hope, as danger escalates all
around them, she is forced to make one impossible choice after another to keep her family alive.

Temple Beth Sholom History Requested
Temple Beth Sholom recently received an email from Mark Cohen,
a gentleman who’s writing a biography of the New York showman, Billy Rose (1899-1966),
for Brandeis University Press.
In 1923, Rose’s parents, and two of his maternal uncles,
were founders of Temple Beth Sholom.
Mark Cohen is hoping someone in our community has information about Rose's relatives.
