We are anticipating the warm weather approaching soon and it will be a great time to head
outside to enjoy the parks and facilities available to you in Lower Providence Township.
During the spring and summer, we have many exciting programs, trips and events
planned: Camp Perkiomy summer camps, sports and specialty camps and of course our
Independence Day Celebration! Please Note the DATE CHANGE of the event to Thursday,
July 3rd!

Come join the tennis pros from Kinetix Sports Club under the direction of Alex
DeCecco, for tennis lessons this summer. All instructors are certified and have

PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT
KIDS come have some fun with LP Parks & Rec! PARENTS plan a special
night out without the kids. Kids will enjoy special themed activities, games,
playground time. A pizza dinner with drinks and snacks will be provided. Bring
a blanket and pillow to watch a Disney Movie on the big screen to end the night.

MINECRAFT: THE NEXT DAY CAMP - NEW!
Get “creative” and join crafting forces with us! Kids will face new challenges
every day, placing their brick-blocks to build a shelter before the monsters
come out at night! Experience the world of MINECRAFT in this exciting camp
where we’ll make mobs, critters, and tools using LEGO bricks.

UK ELITE SOCCER CAMP
Be safe and get certified to use your boat and/or personal watercraft. Instructor
will focus on loading your boat, getting passengers on and off, safety equipment, PFDs and "rules of the water." Successfully complete the course and
you will earn a temporary Boater Safety Certification. For a lifetime Boating
Safety Education Certificate a fee of $10 is required. Please bring a check or
money order. Instructions to obtain a lifetime certification will be offered at
class. (Ages 12+ yrs) Boating Safety Education Certificates are required to
operate a personal watercraft, for persons born on or after January 1, 1982 and
to operate boats powered by motors greater than 25 horsepower.

Children will build robots using software designed to teach robots to respond to
instructions. The robots have sensors and motors that allow them to be
programmed for motion, sound, etc. Kids will have fun telling their robots what

CUPCAKE/CAKE DECORATING CAMP
ZOMBIE SURVIVAL CAMP - NEW!
Back by popular demand! Kids will learn about icing and cakes,
decorating cupcakes, using fondant and basic techniques. At the
end they will participate in Cupcake/Cake Wars! All supplies
(apron, tips & bag, icing, cakes, etc.) are included in the cost.
Are you prepared for the zombie invasion? Become a
member of the Zombie Outbreak Response Agency. As a
ZORA agent you will learn proper protocol for building
zombie proof shelters, locating supply caches using GPS, signaling skills to
communicate with other agents, tracking the undead movements and camouflaging to hide among the zombie legions.

MINECRAFT: DESERT ISLAND SURVIVAL - NEW!
Kids will use a version of Minecraft designed especially for use in schools. They
will work in survival mode which requires taking into account resources, tools,
hunger and more as they build their world. After building shelters and finding food
to live on, they will venture out on the island developing mapping skills, solving
problems, etc. Imagination and ingenuity reign.

Lil’ Perkiomy ~ Camp Perkiomy ~ Perkiomy Trailblazers
Monday through Friday, June 23 - August 1
Summer Camp Information Guides and Registration Forms are available on
the Township website at www.lowerprovidence.org
Lil' Perkiomy Camp preschoolers ages 4 to 5 years old
who may have been in a day care or preschool setting
throughout the school year. Camp is located at the
Eagleville Park Pavilion. Camp times are 9 am to 12 pm.

SUMMER CAMPS 2014!
Camp Perkiomy children who have completed Kindergarten
through 5th grade. Camp Perkiomy has 3 locations:
Eagleville Elementary, Arrowhead Elementary and Audubon
Elementary. Camp times are 8 am to 4 pm. (Extended care
is available before and after camp for an additional fee).
Perkiomy Trailblazers Camp youths who are entering 5th
through 8th grades. Perkiomy Trailblazers Camp has 2
locations: Shoemaker House in Eagleville Park &
Arrowhead Elementary. Camp times are 8 am to 4 pm.
(Extended care is available before and after camp for an
addition fee).
Counselor in Training - C.I.T. Program:
The Counselor In Training Program is designed to train youths (ages 14
years & older) – too old to attend summer camp, but too young for
employment with Lower Providence Township Parks & Recreation – to
assist Summer Camp Staff.

TRIPS & TOURS
Trips are being sponsored in conjunction with Upper
Providence, Skippack and Worcester Township Parks &
Recreation Departments
Refund Policy: No refunds for “No Shows” day of trip. Full refund will be
issued if trip is canceled. Cancellations 30 days in advance, will receive a
refund minus $10.00 administration fee as long as a seat replacement is found.
Pick-up Locations: Exact bus pick-up locations and times will be
determined (1) one week prior to trip and confirmed to all participants with a
phone call or via e-mail.
“Wicked” NYC
The untold story of the Witches of Oz. So much
happened before Dorothy! “Wicked” was named
“Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment
Weekly. Luxury coach transportation and orchestra ticket included in price.

Gettysburg
Arrive at the Gettysburg Visitor Center where you will see
the Cyclorama Experience & Film: ”A New Birth of
Freedom” with time to explore the Visitors Center and
shops. Lunch at General Picketts Buffet is included and
then we will tour the battlefields in a “Step On” Guided Tour. After the tour we
will depart for home with a fast food dinner stop en route on your own.

Join us for a step into the German celebration of Oktoberfest. Our luxury
motor coach will take us to Hunter Mountain for entertainment, food and beer

Office hours are: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
 Classes are filled on a first come first served basis...register early.
 Pre-registration is required for all programs unless otherwise noted.
 Payment must accompany registration form. Cash, Check or Credit Cards are


accepted. Please make checks payable to “Lower Providence Township”
Insufficient Funds: A $25 fee will be charged back to participant for each
returned check.
Registration forms and payment will not be accepted at the program location.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
 Lower Providence P&R reserves the right to cancel any program, trip or
activity due to insufficient registration. A full refund will be issued.
 Inclement weather may prompt cancellations. Not sure? Call Lower
Providence P&R or check the Township website. Sessions are made up at
another date if possible.
 Program Refund Policy: refunds are subject to a fee of 50% of the program
cost and must be requested in writing at least 7 days prior to the start of a
class or program.
 Trip Refund Policy: no refunds for “no shows” day of trip. Cancellation 30
days in advance in writing, will receive a refund minus $10.00
administration fee as long as a seat replacement is found.
 There will be no refunds issued after the class or program has begun.
