SCHEME FOR INTERNSHIP FOR PG/RESEARCH STUDENTS AIM To familiarize the interested and willing PG/Research students with the overall process of training and research in Women & Child Development schemes and programmes. It is neither a job nor any such assurance for a job in NIPCCD GUIDELINES/SALIENT FEATURES OF THE SCHEME Internship will be available to Post-graduate (PG) and Research students during their holidays, who are willing to have an exposure/familiarization of the overall processes involved in the child development, child guidance and counseling, child rights and child protection, voluntary action, women development, ICDS training, etc. Each Intern will be provided with a minimum logistic support i.e. office space with access to intercom facility and computer facility. The interested PG/Research students pursuing studies at various Universities and recognized Research Institutes may send their applications in the enclosed proforma alongwith their CVs (optional), duly forwarded through the Head of the Department. The last date for receipt of application would be 30th March 2015 and the meeting of the committee constituted to scrutinize would be held in the second week of April, 2015. The internship period would be between May, 2015 – August 2015. Duration of internship will not be exceeding a period of 2 months and not less than 45 days. The interested PG/Research students pursuing studies at various Universities and recognized Research Institutes should send their applications in the enclosed proforma alongwith their CVs (optional) through the Head of the Department. Applications received later than 30th March 2015 and those incomplete in any aspect or not forwarded through the Head of the Department, would not be considered by the Committee constituted to scrutinize the applications. Token remuneration @ Rs.2500/- per month for a post graduate student and @ Rs.5000/ for a Ph.D student during internship for a period not exceeding two months, for their contribution in Institute's work. The remuneration would be payable at the end for local transport and other contingency. There is a provision of internship for maximum of 10 students in a financial year. Out of the 10 students on internship, four would be placed at the Headquarters, two each in Regional Centre Bangalore and Lucknow and one each in Guwahati and Indore. Research scholars would be given first preference followed by final year postgraduate students for internship. Further, only those students who are pursuing it as a part of the post graduate curriculum would be eligible for internship at the Institute. All the applications will be scrutinized by a Committee comprising Additional Director, concerned Joint Director and a senior faculty member. The actual offer will be sent to the selected candidates subject to the availability of slot, consent of the Committee constituted for the purpose. The Interns would be supervised by the Additional / Joint Director incharge of specialized Divisions e.g. Child Development, Women Development, Training, Public Cooperation and Regional Directors in charge of NIPCCD Regional Centres located at Bangalore, Guwahati, Lucknow and Indore. No leave will be sanctioned during the internship period The certificate would be awarded to the students on receipt of endorsement of satisfactory performance by his/her Supervisor. The Institute will not be responsible for providing accommodation to outstation Interns. However, in special circumstances and subject to availability of accommodation in Institute’s Hostels at the Headquarters and Regional Centres, the Institute will consider providing accommodation to the Interns with the approval of the Director. The Interns would be charged rent at the same scale on which such accommodation is made available to the officers of the Institute on tour. The boarding charges would be paid by the Intern directly to contractor on the rates approved by the Institute for its various courses. Each Intern will be required to present a brief report/paper at the end of their assignment highlighting their observations and the suggestions, if any to their Supervisor.
