1. This year the Louisiana Folklife Center at Northwestern State University will be sponsoring the 7th
annual NSU Louisiana High School Essay contest. Students wishing to enter the contest will write a
1,000-2,500 word essay addressing the prompt: “Louisiana Time Machine!” Cash prizes will be
awarded. Deadline for entries is May 15, 2015. If you are interested you can pick up information on the
front counter in guidance.
2. The Nu Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship application is now available in
the senior station outside of guidance. Applications and all necessary items are due by April 24, 2015.

7. The Rho Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is now accepting applications for their annual Charles
Drew Scholarship. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, May 1, 2015. The application must be
submitted in type or computer generated form to be considered. Applications are available in your senior station
outside of guidance.
8. The Derek Joseph Olivier Memorial Scholarship is now available in your senior station outside of
guidance. For more information regarding this scholarship please contact Coach Rick Hutson or Mrs. E.
James. Application deadline is May 1st.
9. ATTENTION VISUAL ARTS MAJOR FRESHMEN: Beatrice Joseph Boustany First Generation Endowed
Scholarship 2015-16 $4500 available for 2015-16, this scholarship may be divided to three persons. Institution will
provide the recipients with meaningful campus employment of at least 10 hour per week in addition to scholarship
funds.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. The applicant must be U.S. Citizen, Louisiana Resident and a graduate of a Louisiana high school.
2. Applicant must be a freshman majoring in Visual Arts the semester the student is to receive the fund.
3. Applicant must be a first-generation college student (Neither parent nor legal guardians must have earned a
college degree).
4. Applicant must be eligible for Pell Grant.
5. Minimum 3.0 High School GPA to apply. (Maintenance Requirements: Full-time enrollment and 3.0 cumulative
GPA at UL.)
10. Nursing Schools Almanac has just launched its inaugural 2015 Aspiring Nurse Scholarship. Our
website will award a $1,000 scholarship to an aspiring nurse who best demonstrates:
+ A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics
+ A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare
This scholarship competition is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in
nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted

11. The first scholarship is "Aspiring Fashion Professional" Scholarship. This is a $1,000 scholarship that
will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion degree at an accredited postsecondary school or college. Interested students can visit this link http://www.fashion-schools.org/ and
find the scholarship located at the bottom of the page and click on it. The deadline for this scholarship
is June 1, 2015.
The 2nd Scholarship is the "Aspiring Animation Professional" Scholarship Program. This is the 4th year
we are awarding this scholarship for AnimationCareerReview.com. We are offering high school seniors
the opportunity to win a $1,000 scholarship. This will be awarded to students that are interested in
pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. We ask that you
have interested students visit our website, http://www.animationcareerreview.com/ to find eligibility
information along with the online application. The scholarship will be on the right side of the page and
click on it. The deadline for this scholarship is June 1, 2015.

14. Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship

15. 2015 Student-View Scholarship Program
The 2015 Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $11,000 worth of scholarships to high school
seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community college or career school. Simply log on to
www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area.
The scholarship deadline is April 22, 2015. You can pick up additional information in the senior station
right outside of guidance.
16. LHSAA Scholarship Information is available in the senior station outside of guidance. All athletes
should see your coach or pick up information about available scholarships as soon as possible.
17. The Imagine America High School Scholarship is an award-winning scholarship program offered by the Imagine
America Foundation. The scholarship is for high school seniors planning to attend a career school participating in
the Imagine America High School Scholarship Program. More information is available at www.imagineamerica.org or you can pick up information in your senior station outside of guidance.
18. Information regarding the 2015 Summer Success program is now available in the senior station in
guidance. This program is geared towards high school seniors who express an interest in majoring in
education at UL Lafayette. This program is an eight week program that enables students to have a
productive first year at the university. If you are interested in moreinformation about this program pick
up a brochure in your senior station or contact Jill Lastapes at 337-482-1977.
19. Acadiana Alumnae Panhellenic is a nonprofit group of alumnae sorority women in the Acadiana area
whose purpose is to assist high school senior ladies on their journey towards Greek life. AAP is offering
a scholarship to a senior lady who plans to participate in sorority recruitment at their respective college
or university. Applications can be found in your senior station outside of guidance or on their website at
www.acadianasororities.com. Applications must be postmarked no later than June 1st.
20. LSUE will be conducting early registration and orientation for incoming freshman. To participate in
orientation and early registration students must submit an application for admission and pay the $25.00
application fee. Prior to attending orientation all incoming freshman must go online to schedule their
orientation at www.lsue.edu/orientation and pay the $15.oo orientation fee.
21. 2015-2016 Academic Year scholarships at SLCC are now open for applications!

opportunity for high school seniors and college students who take our Financial Literacy Month Quiz!

24. The Major James Grace Aim High Award applications are now available in your senior station outside
of guidance. Recipients will be chosen on the basis of excellence in academics, athletics, and
leadership abilities. Applications are due by Friday May 1st.
25. The New Iberia Branch of the National Association of University Women’s scholarship application is
now available in guidance. Recipients should have a 2.5 or better; exhibit citizenship, leadership, and
good moral character; be involved in school related extra-curricular activities; and be involved in
community extra-curricular activities. Completed applications are due no later than May 1st.
