It includes: • Registration Information • Housing Information • Travel Guide • Prop Information • On and Off-Campus Events Information • Skills Workshops • Rules and Regulations • Mailed to all teams Monday March 31, 2015 7 Preparing For Global Finals ONLINE REGISTRATION Register your team online as soon as possible. All registrations and payments must be completed by Friday, May 1st. HOUSING & SCHEDULING Submit requests for housing and scheduling. Remember to note if any participants have special needs or requirements. TRAVEL Book your travel according to arrival and departure plans at Global Finals. Tournament starts Wednesday and Closing Celebration is Saturday PM. 8 Fundraising for Global Finals Parent and Community Groups Parent and community groups dispense their funds in the spring as the school year ends. DI is a great activity for these groups to support! School Boards and Principals Boards of Education and Principals have discretionary funds to pay for events just like DI! Show them how well your team has done and ask for financial support! Local Businesses Make sure to ask for sponsors and support at the businesses in your community and where your parents and supporters work. Teams may choose a registration package that includes housing, or just event registration and meals. Packages that include housing are the most popular option for teams attending Global Finals. 9 Team Housing Assignment (Pg 17) • Teams will be assigned housing with their Affiliates • Teams may be placed in a residence hall (dorm) or hotel. • Teams will find out where they are housed approximately one week before arrival, but will not be assigned specific rooms until On-site Registration. 10 Spectator Registration Packages (Pg 18) Each spectator must register for Global Finals. Spectator registration includes access to all competition areas, special events, and pin trading locations. Options for spectators include housing with the teams, event passes only, and passes with lunch or all meals included, depending on the needs of each spectators. Pre-purchased spectator passes are picked up when teams register on-site in Knoxville. While DI will make every effort to accommodate your team’s request, no special requests are guaranteed. Your team’s Instant and Team Challenges will be scheduled on separate days. Travel and Prop Shipment (Pg 21) 14 Teams travel from all over the world to Global Finals and choose many different modes of transportation. • If travelling by Bus or Plane, book your travel As Soon As Possible! • Airport transfers are available, but they must be purchased in advance through the ShopDI Store online. Props may be shipped to UT-Knoxville. All shipped props must arrive between May 4th and May 15th.
