Scholarship Opportunity in Korea
We are pleased to inform about National Institute of
International Education (NIIED) Scholarship program
to our students. 2 academically brilliant students will be
provided with this scholarship. Required criteria for the
scholarship program are attached below.
Application Guideline for GKS(Global Korea Scholarship) exchange student
■ Target : exchange student for fall semester(2nd semester) 2015
- semester duration : 2015.09.01.~2015.12.18.
KIT has special Korea Government scholarship budget for exchange student.
Requested criteria from the NIIED(National Institute of International Education) is superior academic record of your
home institute and other qualifications.
After reviewing all applicant’s academic score, superior students can be selected by KIT.
Please be informed that students selected by KIT are not finally selected by NIIED. After review of each nominated

students’ application documents, NIIED will fix the final nomination on June 26 .
Applicants need to submit below documents for applying for GKS exchange student.

Detail
- total grade should be shown in transcript
- average grade should be over 80% out of 100%
- CGPA should be mentioned (Please send me individual document which
shows CGPA or percentage grade information if academic transcript in your
university does not show CGPA information)
- TOPIK, or other language proficiency test score (soft copy needed)
- NIIED does not accept private institution test score
- Language proficiency test score should be issued after December 2013

Selected scholarship student has to take at least 1 Korean Language class during one’s exchange
student’s stay
Selected scholarship student has to write an essay about studying and staying in KIT before one’s
leaving Korea
Selected scholarship student has to submit photo, home country address, E-mail address and information
of one’s major in one’s home institute
■ Benefits of NIIED scholarship student

Settlement support fund : 200,000KRW
Monthly living cost : 800,000KRW/per every month
(For semester beginning month and semester ending month, student will get daily based living cost)
Round air fare -> amount of actual air fare within the maximum amount of NIIED standard
- If student go to one’s home country via other country due to one’s private trip, NIIED will not support
airfare
- when student stays Korea more than 30 days after the last day of KIT semester, NIIED will not support
airfare
Insurance : NIIED will pay the insurance for scholarship student within limit of 20,000KRW per month
So selected scholarship student does not have to purchase insurance at home university in advance. KIT
will take care of it once they arrive KIT.
FYI, KIT do not support dormitory fee for NIIED scholarship student since scholarship student can receive
enough scholarship from the NIIED
NIIED scholarship student will pay dormitory fee at one’s own expense.
