Message PDF on 6 people execution, May 28, 2015

Message to
The United Nations, European Union, United States,
and all Democratic and Free countries
On 17 May 2015, the Egyptian government executed six people, in what
is a further example in a litany of human rights abuses perpetrated by the
regime of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
It is of note that several of those executed had been imprisoned prior to
the incident in question and therefore could not have been present at the
scene of the offence for which they had been charged.
Further, Mohamed Morsi, the first democratically elected President of
Egypt, has been sentenced to death by the Egyptian courts following a
trial that cannot be described as anything other than a farce.
We, as individuals and organizations committed to human rights and
democracy, communicate this message to the international community:
By its silence or, through its tacit approval of the Egyptian government
through diplomatic recognition and foreign assistance, the international
community is facilitating the numerous human rights abuses perpetrated
by the regime.
The commitment of the international community to the rule of law and
the observance of human rights is being questioned by the peoples of the
Middle-East following what can possibly be seen as a double standard.
Having been prevented from exercising their democratic rights and
having their voices silenced through oppression there are those that are
taking ever more extreme means. It is a natural consequence that this
discontent has been seized upon and exploited by violent organizations
like ISIS and similar factions.
We would urge you to consider the consequences of this support for the
regime of el-Sisi and the ramifications for the citizens of Egypt.
We urge you to continue to pursue the rule of law and respect for human
rights in the Middle East.
We urge you to condemn the government that ordered and approved
massacres in Egypt.
We urge you to withdraw support for this regime!
Best Regards
