• Another name for Argentina is the Argentine
Republic.
• It’s a federal republic that is located in the
Southeastern south America.
• It shares the Southern Cone with its smaller
neighborhood Chile and bordered by Bolivia
and Paraguay to the north.
• The mainland area of Argentina is 2,780,400
km2 (1,073,500 sq. mi)
• Argentina is to be the eight largest country in
the world.
• And the second largest country in Latin
America
• And the largest Spanish speaking country in
the world.
• Argentina is said to have sovereignty over part
of Antarctica.
• Also the Falkland islands ( Spanish: Islas
Malvinas)
• Also South Georgia and South Sandwich
Islands.
• Argentina rose as the successor state of the
Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Planta
• Which is a overseas colony founded in the
year of 1776.
• Argentina gets its historic status as a middle
power
• Which means it is a sovereign state that is not
a super power or a great power
• But it still has large or moderate influence and
international recognition.
• Argentina has the third largest economy in
Latin America and it is a member of the G-15
and G-20 major economies.
• Its also a founding member of the United
Nations, World Bank, WTO, Mercosur,
UNASUR, CELAC, and OEI.
• Argentina was also classified as a middle
emerging economy with a very high rating on
the Human Development Index.
History
• Argentina has the earliest traces of human life
that was dated from the Paleolithic Period
with the further traces in the Mesolithic and
Neolithic.
• It was also relatively sparsley populated by a
wide number of diverse cultures with different
social organizations that can be divided into
three main groups.
Colonial Era
• The Europeans first arrived in the region with
the 1502 voyage of a man named Amerigo
Vespucci.
• Further colonization efforts had come from
Paraguay.
• Paraguay is another country, its very small and
located in central South America
Independence and civil wars
• The 1810 May Revolution replaced the viceroy
Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros with the First
Junta.
• In 1816 the Congress of Tucuman formalized
the declaration of Independence.
• The 1820 Battle of Cepeda, fought between
the Centralists and the Federalists, resulted in
the end of the Supreme Director rule.
Iguazu Falls
• Also known as Iguassu Falls of the Iguazu River
that is located on the border of the Argentina
province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of
Parana. The falls divides the river in the upper
and also the lower Iguazu. It is one of the
Tourist attractions in Argentina.
Los Glaciares National Park
• This is a national park and it is a federal
protected area in Santa Cruz Province,
Argentina. This park just about covers an area
of 726,927 ha, that makes it the second
biggest national park in the whole country
which is a tourist attraction.
La Boca, Buenos Aries
• This is a neighborhood or barrio of the
Argentina capital, Buenos Aries. It retains a
strong European flavour with a lot of its early
settlers being from the Italian city of Genoa.
This neighborhood is also a tourist attractions.

MALBA
• The Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aries is a museum
located on a street that is called Figueroa Alcorta Ave. Buenos
aires, Argentina. It was created by a man named Eduardo
Constantini. It was inaugurated on September 21st in the year
of 2001. This institution was organized around the Costantini
Collection and it still continue to grow from modern artist
from across Latin America. It is also sustained by over 1,400
active patrons. This is one good tourist attraction.
Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral
• This is the main Catholic church in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It
is located in the city center that is overlooking the Plaza de
Mayo that is on the corner of San Martin and Rivadavia
streets in the San Nicolas neighborhood. The Cathedral of
Buenos Aires was rebuilt a lot since its humble origins in the
16th century. The building is now a mix of architectural styles
with an 18th century nave and dome and also a sever 19th
century Neoclassical façade without towers. This is a good
tourist attraction.
