Do I need to wear a cap?
2015 Summer Sprint Swim
YES! We provide (1) complimentary cap for
swimmers. (Note: If you are swimming the
entire Series, you are given (1) cap. Please do
not take additional caps at each swim.) You may
use your own brightly colored cap as well. THIS
IS A SAFETY ISSUE , PLEASE KOKUA!
Where do I park?
There is parking in the Sunset Beach parking lot
at the start. Parking is also available at the
finish at Ehukai Beach Park or Sunset Beach
Elementary across the street.
What kind of start is it?
The swim will begin with a water start. There will
be two waves. Men will go first at 9:00 am, the
women will start 5 minutes later. Please review
the course map posted onsite event day.
Where do I check in? Where is Late
Registration?
Late registration and check in is located at
Sunset Beach. All swimmers must check in to
receive their t-shirts, timing chip and race
numbers. Swim caps are also distributed during
check in.
What can I expect once on the course?
It is highly recommended that you swim from
buoy to buoy on the course. If you are in need
of help WAVE YOUR HAND. If you decide to
quit and swim to the beach, please contact a
race official at the finish area as soon as
possible.
Do I have to go attend course instructions?
Yes, swimmers must attend course instructions.
Course instructions will be given at 8:45 am.
Please make sure you pay special attention,
even if you have done this event several times
before.
Not sure on Race Day?
Don’t worry, if you unsure about anything during
race day, please ask a staff member or a
lifeguard. If you do decide not to swim or
complete the race, it is extremely important that
you notify a race official immediately. Otherwise
we will be spending time and manpower
searching for you!
Also, as in all open water events, be careful at
the START and FINISH as you will be swimming
with other people. Occasionally people get
kicked by an unsuspecting fellow competitor, so
please be aware of those around you.
When is the Awards Presentation?
Awards presentation usually commences
between 10:30 and 11:00am on the grass in the
event staging area.
