to create conceptual models of programs
and then learn how to convert the models
into robust, reusable code in any programming language. This course will be beneficial for entry level and mid level programmers who are looking to learn unique and
proven problem solving skills to develop
re-usable software regardless of the programming language they use.

Basic Drawing
One of the most challenging and rewarding disciplines in art is to capture the character and likeness of a human subject.
This course covers the study of the head
and face. The focus will be to develop a
keen eye for the proper proportions of
the head and an artist’s understanding of
the anatomy and proportions of the face.
Students will be instructed in the observation of the planar surfaces of the head
including: eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head
and shoulders. This course is perfect for an
artist who would like to work with portraiture. Class sessions will include working
from a planar bust of the head, handouts
provided, self-portrait studies and finally
a model. Students may sculpt in clay and
draw from clay; working in three dimensions strengthens drawing skills. Additional projects may include working from personal sketches or personal photographs.
Charcoal pencils or graphite pencils on
white drawing paper will be the medium.
Supplies: Please bring these drawing supplies to class for the first session: black
charcoal OR graphite pencils (hard, medium, soft/HB, 4B, 6B), white drawing
paper (11X14 or larger), kneaded eraser,
Factis white stroke eraser, utility blade,
blending stump, and fine sandpaper pad.
In this class students will learn the fundamentals that make drawing easier. Using
pencil and charcoal, students will use still
life compositions to study contour, proportion, structure, value and the spatial relationships that exist between objects. Contour
line exercises, simple rules of perspective
along with shading will teach students that
drawing is fun. Please bring a #2 pencil, a
large stick of soft vine charcoal, soft black
conte crayon and kneaded eraser to the first
class. A complete list of supplies will be

Grades 6 to 8
This art based program will
teach each student the materials; vocabulary, design and
“hands on” know how it takes
to create their very own beautiful mosaic piece of artwork.
Students will learn the basics
of design by creating their
plan using cut pieces of paper
to represent what their final
artwork will look like. Once
they have a design, students
will begin to use real tiles and
grout along with “found objects “ to create a one of a kind
mosaic piece We will also set
broken dishes and glass beads
into a glue/plaster base on the
back of a tile. This makes for a
safe adhesive for kids and the
back of the tile being unglazed
is a great surface. Students
will walk away with a piece
of artwork that will make a
beautiful decor piece for many
years to come.
