Students will learn the basics of design by creating their plan using cut pieces of paper to represent what their final artwork will look like. Once they have a design, students will begin to use real tiles and grout along with “found objects “ to create a one of a kind mosaic piece We will also set broken dishes and glass beads into a glue/plaster base on the back of a tile. This makes for a safe adhesive for kids and the back of the tile being unglazed is a great surface. Students will walk away with a piece of artwork that will make a beautiful decor piece for many years to come.
