Carla Teare has more national championship titles than any other woman in the history of paddleball, sixteen in total. She and her sister, Anna Thomas, claimed eight Women’s Open Doubles National titles from 1985 to 1993, and Carla teamed with Andy Kasalo to collect three National Mixed Open Doubles from 1991 to 1994. In Women’s Open National Singles, Carla won four consecutive times from 1983 to 1986 and collected her fifth title in 1988. Always a tough, aggressive, well-‐conditioned, and fair competitor, Carla habitually outlasted her opponents. She was a talented paddleball player; an excellent shooter, who was never afraid to take “the big shot.” Carla Teare was clearly a dominant tournament player from 1983 to 1994.
