 People and Planet First Fellowship National People’s Action’s People and Planet Fellowship is a one-­‐year fellowship for emerging talent in the social change field in areas of organizing, digital, policy, fundraising, or communications. Fellows will help drive a national People and Planet First strategy with interlocking campaigns at the local level. People and Planet First is designed to build a bottom-­‐up movement in cities and states to advance a broad agenda for economic, racial and gender justice, a more inclusive democracy, and a sustainable energy economy. Responsibilities: • Provide support to grassroots organizations to develop and run People and Planet campaigns in cities and states across the country. • Organize calls, meetings, actions, and events to advance the People and Planet agenda. • Conduct research and produce materials that support grassroots organizing to advance this agenda. • Advance our narrative, campaigns, and ideas in social and traditional media. • Travel to cities and towns to support organizations organizing action, campaigns and civic engagement strategies. • Additional responsibilities will vary depending on the fellow’s experience and skills related to organizing, digital, policy, fundraising, digital, and communications. Qualifications: We are looking for deeply committed and highly effective team members to advance an agenda that serves both people and the planet. Specific skills and attributes include: • A commitment to economic and racial justice • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Good team players • Attention to detail • Entry-­‐level organizing or social change experience • Willingness to travel People and Planet Fellows are to be based in Chicago. Salary and Benefits: 2 Fellows will receive a one-­‐year salary of $35,000, full health insurance, vacation and earned sick time.
