Subject: - Requirement of Internet Connectivity for unconnected blocks-regarding.
Sir/ Madam,
Ministry has identified 985 blocks which are having connectivity issues for maintained the
programme database (NREGASoft). The list includes blocks shared by the states and the
location where connectivity speed was less than 256 Kbps as reported through the online web
survey.
In order to resolve connectivity issue the matter was discussed with DEITY ( [Common
Services Centerj CSC -SPV) and the data was shared to find out if any existing functional CSC
infrastructure is already present at these blocks or in the GPs attached with these Blocks.

The above analysis is being shared with you with the following advisory:a) Wherever functional CSCs are present in Block headquarters, the POs should use the
CSC infrastructure for doing the data entry on a real time in all places where CS Cs are
existing below block level, the GPs can also make use of CSCs for doing the required
data entry at the GP level, as this will improve the MIS data entry substantially.
b) Where there is already a broadband facility, States can use the CSC centres for the data
entry in case of any difficulty in getting access to the existing internet connectivity in the
Block computer centres/ GPs.
c) For above services (2.a, 2.b and 2.c) the rates will be fixed by the State Governments in
consultation with the CSC vendors.
d) Where ever CSC is shown as present, but not functional, states can take up thematter
with their Secretary (IT) regarding restoring connectivity in these CSCs.

e) In Blocks where there is no functional CSC, they will be considered for VSAT connectivity
by this Ministry through NIC.
