Monumental: David Brower’s Fight for Wild America
CSC, with the Maine Sierra Club, is sponsored a showing of the film, “Monumental:
David Brower’s Fight for Wild America”, on February 4.
Between the major snow storms, about sixteen VERY HARDY souls saw this marvelous
file about David Brower, a former executive director of the Sierra Club and an
important American conservationist. During the lively discussion following the film, all
expressed their delight at having seen it . Too bad the weather kept so many from
joining them.

OTHER LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
OUR LIBRARIES
The Mid-coast has six outstanding libraries - Bremen, Camden, Rockland, Rockport,
Skidompha, (Damariscotta) and Thomaston. Bremen, Skidompha and Thomaston
Libraries offer free library cards to CSC members. Take out a book, see a film,
participate in a discussion, listen to an author talk, or bring a child to one of the
many children’s activities offered.
Many of these libraries are non-profit and depend on patron and community support.
Help keep these precious resources robust and contribute to your library.
OUR THEATERS
The Lincoln Theater (Damariscotta), the Strand Theater (Rockland) and the Harbor
Theatre (Boothbay) feature many current and unique films, HD opera and NT Live
plays, ballet, live performances and all feature tasty popcorn! Lincoln Theater also
has wine, beverages and “retro” candy!
Check out the websites and be sure to join the mailing lists (Lincoln and Strand) to
get info on the latest offerings each week.
Both the Lincoln and Strand theaters also depend on contributions to keep the
programming as vibrant and varied as it is.
Please support your theaters by
attending and by contributing.
