Gardens &
Farmer 's Markets
An Abundance
of Summer Nutrition
It’s here! It’s here! The summer
growing season is finally upon
us! The St. Paul Farmer’s Markets
are bursting with the first crops
of the season like local cabbage,
green beans, spinach, green onions,
broccoli, strawberries and peas.
•Plant an indoor garden: Herbs
& some fruits and vegetables
can be grown indoors. Basil,
cilantro, parsley, and lettuce
are decorative and delicious.
Use an old milk carton to start
seedlings. Just fill with dirt,
plant your seeds, place in a
sunny spot, and water often.
•Find your local farmer’s market: To find recipes, what’s in
season, and to find a market close
to you, check out their website:

To tell if an egg is raw or
hard-boiled, spinfarmer
it. Because the
liquids have set into a solid, a
hard-boiled egg will easily spin.
The moving liquids in a raw egg
will cause it to wobble.
