No previous experience of graphic calculators is assumed or required; just an enthusiasm to consider the implications of using an extremely useful teaching and learning tool. Presenter : Noel Jackson Head of Education, International Centre for Life This workshop is a graphic example of how hands-on maths creates an engagement with maths that has a reach far beyond the classroom. Cyclic numbers are an important part of everyday life, particularly time keeping. They can also provide the basis for some fascinating and foolproof card tricks. Students from KS2 all the way through secondary school are delighted to discover engaging activities which rely on the power of maths rather than slight of hand. Whats more, because they want to show their families and friend, the interest is infectious.
