Telegraph, telephone and unsigned entries cannot be accepted. Entries not
on official AKC entry forms and photocopies of entry forms without the
agreement and rules on the reverse side of the official AKC entry form are
NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Entries received without correct fees will not be accepted. Returned checks
do not constitute valid entry fees. Each returned check will have a collection
fee of $25.00 added to it.
No Entry shall be accepted which specifies any conditions as to its
acceptance. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is
absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from
competition by action of Show Committee. If because of riots, civil
disturbances of other acts beyond the control of the management it is
impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be
made.
Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their
dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases,
and have appropriate vaccinations.
**** BRED-BY-EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY ****
All dogs entered in the Bred-By Class must be individually registered with
the AKC. The person handling the dog must be a breeder of record of the
dog and an owner of record of the dog. To exhibit in this class, family
members must be a breeder and owner of record.

The Nutmeg Afghan Hound Club reserves the right to remove any
animal in distress from a parked vehicle or crate, and all persons
attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against the
club or it’s members for such removal.

SWEEPSTAKES
The Sweepstakes is open to all afghans who on the date of the show will be six
months of age and under eighteen months of age. All dogs entered in the
sweepstakes MUST be entered in a regular class of the show, and the entry form
must state “Sweepstakes” (and the class division) in the space provided for
‘additional classes’.
Sweepstakes Prizes
The Nutmeg Afghan Hound Club will retain 35% of the entry fees for expenses and
the remaining monies shall be divided as follows among the class winners:
First:................. 40% of the entry fees in that class
Second:............ 30% of the entry fees in that class
Third:............... 20% of the entry fees in that class
Fourth:............ 10% of the entry fees in that class

Parade of Rescue Afghans
(Non-Competitive)
Open to dogs and bitches adopted through Afghan Rescue. Minimum age of each
entrant is 6 months on the day of the show. Each entry will receive a Special
Medallion made specifically for the PARADE OF RESCUE suspended from a red,
white and blue ribbon, offered by the Afghan Hound Club of America. Contact
Pamela Wall at (978) 774-8966 to be included in this event.
AWARDS OF MERIT
Three (3) Awards of Merit may be presented to entrants in Best of Breed
Competition at the discretion of the judge.
BREED PRIZES
A complete list of all those who so generously donated to the NAHC
Trophy Fund will appear in the catalog.

Best Puppy: Open to the dogs & bitches placing first in the Regular Puppy Classes
Best Bred By Exhibitor: Open to the dog & bitch placing first in the regular Bred
By Exhibitor Classes
Competitive Veterans: Open to all Champions of Record who, on the day of the
show, are 7 years of age or older. Class will be divided by sex. The dog and bitch
placing first in each class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed
Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries
Stud Dog Class: For Stud Dogs and two but not more than four of their Get. Stud
Dog must be entered in Stud Dog Class & must be shown in the ring with Get. Get
must be entered in a regular class or in Best of Breed competition. Owner of Stud
Dog need not be owner of get. $10.00 fee for Stud Dog.
Brood Bitch Class: Same as above except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and
Produce for Get. $10.00 fee for Brood Bitch
Brace Class: Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least one
common owner. If a dog, which is to be part of the brace, is not entered in another
class, it must be entered for “Brace Class Only”, fee of $25.00 per dog, plus the
$10.00 fee for the brace as a unit.
Parade Of Veterans
(Non-Competitive)
Open to all dogs and bitches (champions and non-champions) who, on the date of
the show, are 7 years of age or older. Veterans for Parade may not be allowed to
compete in any regular or non-regular class. Each entrant will receive a rosette.
There is a $10.00 entry fee.
Best of Opposite Sex: Original Statue by June Leitch
Best of Winners: The Afghan Hound Club of America offers a silver plated
medallion (2”) depicting the Club Emblem suspended from a red, white and blue
ribbon.

I (WE) ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE Rules Applying to Dog Shows and, if this entry is for an obedience trial, the Obedience
Regulations, have been made available to me (us), and that I am (we are) familiar with their contents. I (we) waive any and all
claims, causes of action, I (we) might otherwise have against the AKC and any AKC-approved judge, judging at this show, under
AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines. I (we) agree that the club holding this show or obedience trial has the right to refuse this
entry for cause which the club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the
show or obedience trial and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to
hold this club, its members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner or lessor of the
premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have
been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or upon the show or obedience trial premises
or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we)
further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of this dog by disappearance, theft, death, or
otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury, be caused
or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or
any other cause or causes.
