Minimum
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s
degree preferred.
Experience: Significant experience in an executive, administrative, or managerial capacity
in public or private employment involving the
responsibility for the planning, organization, implementation, and supervision of varied work
programs. A blend of public service and private
enterprise experience would be seen as a strong
match for this position. Size, scope, and complexity will be an important consideration. Knowledge
of, or experience in, Nevada is beneficial but not
required.
Per the Henderson City Charter, at the time of
appointment the City Manager need not be a resident of the City or the State, but if a person is
appointed who is not a resident of the City, that
person shall become a resident of and reside
within the City soon after their appointment.
Compensation
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary and benefits package. The most recent base salary was $228,375. Current benefits
include annual paid time off, life insurance, and
participation in the Nevada Public Employees’
Retirement System plan. The City of Henderson
does not participate in Social Security except
for the Medicare portion. Candidates should be
aware that the State of Nevada has no personal income tax. The City Council will approve an
employment agreement with the selected candidate that may include relocation assistance. For
