Dear Tom :
Technical Career Institutes, also known as TCI College of Technology, would be honored
to serve as the host for the New York chapter of the Distance Learning Association . Our academic
divisions offer Associate's degree programs in Business and Legal Studies, Health Sciences and
Technologies, Engineering and Facilities Technologies , as well as Arts and Sciences. Founded in
1909 under the leadership of Nobel Prize recipient Guglielmo Marconi, TCI was originally a
leading center for education and development in the communications industry. Later, the school
was propelled forward by graduate David Sarnoff, pioneer of American commercial radio and
television, and co-founder of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). Our rich history leads us
to today, as we currently offer hybrid learning options for students to learn on industry standard
equipment, combining hands-on classroom time with remote-access Internet assignments.
Your efforts as the executive director of the NY/NJ/CT cl)apter of USDLA will help bring
our educational, government and corporate e-learning efforts to new levels here at TCI College. In
particular, we are interested in developing a relationship with Homeland Security in conjunction
with our Security Services and Management program, and deepening corporate partnerships that
will help our Career Services staff place our students and recent graduates with more internships
and entry-level positions. We look forward to working with you later this year on these initiatives.
Please let me know if you have additional questions or if I may be of assistance.
Sincerely yours,
Janice Dru
