NYS NEVADA 11 MAN BANTAM DIVISION REVIEWS May 30th, 2015 THE #1 SEED LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE #2 SEED DS PREDATORS 26-0 AT CIMARRON HS IN THE BATNAM DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP GAME In a dominating championship game performance the Las Vegas Saints shutout the Del Sol Predators to claim the Bantam Division crown. Not only did they earn the title, but they did so by capping off a perfect 9-0 season. X'Avion Smith scored 2 touchdowns to power the LV Saints to the division championship. Smith scored in the 1st quarter on a 2 yard run to give the Saints a 6-0 lead. In the 2nd quarter the Saints scored on a pretty 60 yard run by Jason Wiley for a 14-0 lead. In the 3rd quarter the Saints scored on a 20 yard run by Ricahrd Washington for a 20-0 lead. Finally in the 4th quarter X'Avion Smith put the icing on the cake with a 5 yard TD run, and a 26-0 final score. The Saints used a ball control offense against a solid Predator defense. The Saints rushed for 134 yards with Richard Washington gaining 73 yards. The Saints defense played great getting 3 turnovers and 3 QB sacks and limiting the predator offense to 117 total yards. Thor Kuni and Jayden Prince recovered fumbles and X'Avion Smith had an interception for the Saints. The Predators were led by Julio Cobos with 56 yards rushing but couldn’t get things together as an offense as the Saints marched to the title. THE 702 49ERS DEFEATED THE BG GATORS 21-12 AT SILVERADO HS Quinten Larry scored 3 touchdowns to power the Silverado 702 49ers to a great bowl victory. The 49ers scored in the 1st quarter on a beautiful 70 yard kickoff return by Larry for a 6-0 lead. The Gators tied the score at 6-6 on a 2 yard run by Jayden Posey. Still in the 1st quarter the 49ers scored on a 49 yard run by Quinten Larry for a 13-6 lead. In the 2nd quarter the Gators scored on a 5 yard run by Drais Bellamy and the 49ers led 13-12. In the 3rd quarter Quinten Larry scored the game winning TD on a stunning 80 yard run for a 21-12 lead. The 4th quarter was all defenses as the 49ers shut down the Gators offense to preserve the victory. The 49ers were led by Quinten Larry with 134 yards rushing and 15 yards receiving. On defense Malik Stinnett recovered a fumble. For the Gators Drais Bellamy and Jaiden Yarber combined for 119 yards rushing. May 16th, 2015 THE #2 SEED DS PREDATORS DEFEATED THE #7 SEED LV DUCKS 29-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK FIELD 8 ON 5/14 The Del Sol Predators played fabulous defense shutting down the Ducks offense in leading their team to 1st round playoff win. In the 2nd quarter the Predators scored on a 19 yard pass to Josuha Stefen Jr from QB Edward Cox II to jump out into the lead. Later in the 2nd quarter the Predators increased their lead to 15-0 on a great 58 yard fumble return by Marcos Kemp. In the 4th quarter the Predators scored on a 39 yard run by Brendan Mills for a 23-0 lead. Julio Cobos scored on a 20 yard run for the Predators to close out the scoring and a 29-0 final score. The Predators rushed for 164 yards and passed for 28 yards. On defense Logann Britt recovered a fumble and Kobe Hendricks had an interception. The Predators defense limited the Ducks to 64 total yards on offense. The Ducks played very hard and were led by Khalon White with 39 yards rushing and QB Govene Ortega passed for 27 yards. On defense Robert Bausch recovered a fumble for the Ducks. THE #4 SEED 702 49ERS DEFEATED THE #3 SEED HG WOLF PACK 34-28 IN OT AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK FIELD 8 ON 5/15 In a first round playoff battle for the ages, the 702 49ers found gold late to take down the Wolf Pack in overtime and advance into the semi-finals. Matthew Hermann scored in the 1st overtime to lead the Silverado 702 49ers to a huge playoff victory. The Wolf Pack scored in the 1st quarter on a beautiful 70 yard pass to Trevaughn McAllister from QB Ashton Bond. Noah Childress made the 2 point kick and the Wolf Pack led 8-0. The 49ers struck right back on a 49 yard run by Malik Stinnett and Branko Hansell Foto made a 2 point kick for an 8-8 tie score. In the 2nd quarter the Wolf Pack scored on a 62 yard pass to Trevaughn McAllister from QB Ashton Bond and Childress made another 2 point kick for a 16-8 lead. The 49ers answered back with a 16 yard run by Quinten Larry and the Wolf Pack led 16-14. In the 3rd quarter the 49ers grabbed the lead 20-16 on a 46 yard run by Matthew Hermann. But the Wolf Pack was still hungry scored and on a 50 yard run by Noah Childress for a 22-20 lead. Late in the 3rd quarter the 49ers scored on a 49 yard pass to Quinten Larry from QB Matthew Hermann and a 28-22 advantage. But Once again the Wolf Pack would not be denied and scored on a 56 yard scoring strike to Trevaughn McAllister from Ashton Bond. They could not convert the extra point so the game ended in a 28-28 tie in regulation. The 49ers won the toss and scored quickly on a 2 yard sneak by QB Matthew Hermann and a 34-28 lead. The Wolf Pack chances ended on a 4th down interception by Matthew Hermann and the 49ers found the gold. The 49ers offense rushed for 217 yards behind great blocking by their offensive line. Matthew Hermann and Malik Stinnett combined for 146 yards rushing and Quinten Larry pitched in with 92 yards of offense. The Wolf Pack was led by Trevaughn McAllister who had a great game. He caught 4 passes for 196 yards. QB Ashton Bond played well passing for 212 yards. With the win, the 49ers advanced into the semi-finals. THE #3 SEED BG GATORS DEFEATED THE #6 SEED HG FEDERALS 18-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK FIELD 6 IN ON 5/15 The Bishop Gorman Gators had enough offense and a chomping defense to take down the Henderson Federals and advance to the semi-finals. Angelo Kambala caught a fantastic 90 yard touchdown pass to lead the BG Gators to a big playoff win. QB Johnathan Emelo Jr passed to Kambala for the 90 yard TD and Jaidyn Yarber ran 4 yards for a touchdown as well for the Gators. Star running back Dionn Whittaker scored on a 31 yard touchdown for the Gators. The Gators rushed for 162 yards with Jaidyn Yarber and Dionn Whittaker combining for 156 yards. QB Johnathan Emelo Jr passed for 128 yards and Angelo Kambala caught 2 passes for 97 yards. The Gators defense was ferocious as they sacked the Federals QB 5 times and Jaidyn Yarber recovered a fumble. The Federals were led by Damon Ford with 67 yards rushing and QB Aiden O'marra passed for 29 yards. The Gators advanced into the semi-finals with the victory while the Federals played hard, but couldn’t quite crack the Gators tough defense. THE #1 SEED LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE #4 SEED 702 49ERS 25-8 AT BASIC HS In a tremendous semi-final showdown, the Las Vegas Saints had just enough offense to march past the 702 49ers at Basic High School. X'Avion Smith scored 2 touchdowns to lead the LV Saints to a nice playoff victory. Smith scored on run of 50 & 2 yards and Issac Godinez scored on a 50 yard run. Also scoring for the Saints was Ricahrd Washington on a 5 yard run. The 49ers lone touchdown was scored on a 3 yard run by Justin Guzman. The Saints offense rushed for 187 yards as Issac Godinez and X'Avion Smith combined for 110 yards rushing. The Saints defense played excellent limiting the 49ers to 120 total yards. The 49ers were led by QB Matthew Hermann with 38 yards passing. On defense Malik Stinnett recovered a fumble and Kayl Maack had an interception for the 49ers in the great effort. The 49ers will take on the Gators in a bowl game to finish out the season while the Saints advance to the Championship Game where they will take on the defending champion Del Sol Predators in what should be a thriller. THE #2 SEED DS PREDATORS DEFEATED THE #3 SEED BG GATORS 28-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK FIELD 8 The Del Sol Predators used an efficient offense and stellar defense to shut down the BG Gators and advanced to the championship game with a victory at Ed Fountain Park on Saturday. Logann Britt scored 3 touchdowns to power the HG Predators to a nice playoff win. Britt scored on a nifty 58 yard run and was a stud on defense with 2 scores. He had 2 pick 6 touchdowns covering 58 & 48 yards. Star running back Julio Cobos scored on a 13 yard run for the Predators. The Predators were led on offense by Logann Britt and Julio Cobos with a combined 82 yards rushing. The Predators defense played fabulous limiting the Gators to 81 total yards. Logann Britt had 2 interceptions and a fumble recovery and Marcos Kemp recovered a fumble as well. The Gators were led by Drais Bellamy, Dionn Whittaker and Jaidyn Yarber with a combined 77 yards rushing. The Predators will advance to the championship game where they will take on the Las Vegas Saints in what should be a thriller while the Gators will take on the 49ers in one final Bowl Game before they head to the National Championship Tournament in San Diego. THE BG GATORS DEFEATED THE LV DUCKS 32-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK #8 The Bishop Gorman Gators capped of the regular season with a big victory over the Ducks at Ed Fountain Park to earn the #3 seed heading into the playoffs. Dionn Whittaker had an excellent game scoring 5 touchdowns to power the BG Gators to victory. Whittaker scored on runs covering 25, 22, 23, and 13 yards, and caught a 4 yard TD pass from QB Johnathan Emelo Jr. The Gators offense rushed for 218 yards as the offensive line did a superb job of blocking. Dionn Whittaker rushed for 103 yards and Drais Bellamy combined with Jaidyn Yarber for 103 yards rushing. Whittaker also caught 2 passes for 18 yards. The Gators defense played incredible limiting the Ducks to -2 yards of total offense. Mason Tryon recovered a fumble and Angelo Kambala had 2 interceptions for the Gators defense. The Ducks were clearly out of the water in this game, but they played hard and did their best. The Gators will enter the playoffs and look for a big first round victory over the Federals on Friday night while the Ducks will attempt to pull off a big upset victory over the Predators in their playoff matchup. THE HG WOLF PACK DEFEATED THE HG FEDERALS 18-0 AT BASIC HS The Henderson Wolf Pack howled their way to a shutout victory in their regular season finale victory over the Henderson Federals at Basic High School this past Saturday. Trevaughn McAllister scored 2 touchdowns to lead the HG Wolf Pack to victory. McAllister scored on a 50 & 12 yard TD passes from QB Ashton Bond. Noah Childress also scored for the Wolf Pack on 27 yard run. The Wolf Pack offense was led by Noah Childress with 67 yards rushing and Trevaughn McAllister caught 3 passes for 72 yards. QB Ashton Bond completed 5 of 7 passes for 104 yards. The Wolf Pack defense was awesome with Anthony Carulli recovering a fumble and Trevaughn McAllister had an interception. The Federals played with a lot of heart and did their best, but could muster little offense against the Wolf Pack defense. The Federals will look to turn things around and start a playoff march of their own on Friday night with a victory over the BG Gators. The Wolf Pack meanwhile enter a big Friday night showdown with the 702 49ers as both teams look to get on a roll in the playoffs this weekend! THE 702 49ERS DEFEATED THE DS PREDATORS 8-2 AT SILVERADO HS The 702 49ers earned a close low scoring squeaker of a victory over the Del Sol Predators at Silverado High School. Quinten Larry scored the game winning touchdown on a pass from QB Branko Hansell Foto to lead the Silverado 702 49ers to a big win. Larry caught Hansell Foto's beautiful pass and streaked 90 yards for a touchdown. The Predators only score was a safety. Both teams played outstanding defense throughout the game. The 49ers rushed for 116 yards Malik Stinnett and Branko Hansell Foto combining for 80 yards rushing. Hansell Foto and Matthew Hermann combined for 100 yards passing. Ronnie Hinkle Had an interception for the 49ers defense. The Predators managed only 66 yards rushing and 35 yards passing against a very stingy 49ers defense. The Predators maintained the #2 seed heading into the playoffs and will take on the Las Vegas Ducks in a first round playoff game on Thursday night. May 2nd, 2015 THE DS PREDATORS DEFEATED THE LV DUCKS 34-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK #6 ON 5/1/15 The Del Sol Predators entered action on Friday night on the hunt to keep their winning streak alive and managed to do so in convincing fashion with a shutout win over the Las Vegas Ducks. Logan Britt scored 2 touchdowns to lead the HG Predators to a nice victory. Britt scored on 15 & 21 yard runs, and Julio Cobos scored on a 7 yard run in the Predators big win. Kobe Hendricks also had a big game scoring on an excellent 60 yard kickoff return and passing 4 yards to Marcos Kemp for a touchdown. The Predators offense rushed for 147 yards and passed for 49 yards. Julio Cobos and Logann Britt combined for 84 yards rushing. The Predators defense was awesome allowing only 9 yards of total offense by the Ducks. Logann Britt had a big game on defense with 2 interceptions. The Ducks played as well as possible and gave it their all but came up short in this one. The Ducks will look to turn their fortunes around next weekend in their final game of the season in their matchup with the Gators at Ed Fountain Park. THE LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE HG WOLF PACK 19-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK #6 ON 5/1/15 The Saints maintained their undefeated season with a shutout victory over the Henderson Wolf Pack on Friday Night action at Ed Fountain Park. The LV Saints offense controlled the game with their strong running attack to lead them to victory. In the 1st quarter Deonne Gill Jr scored on a 1 yard plunge and in the 2nd quarter Joseph Williams scored on a short run. In the 3rd quarter Richard Washington scampered 49 yards for the Saints last touchdown. The Saints used their steady methodical running game to control the clock. They rushed for 169 yards with Richard Washington gaining 86 yards. The Saints defense played great with Richard Washington and Erickson Buck II recovering fumbles. The Wolf Pack was led by QB Ashton Bond with 50 yards passing and on defense Wesley Steele recovered a fumble. In the end however it wasn’t enough for the Wolf Pack who couldn’t howl at the moon on Friday night with a win. They will try again next weekend in their matchup with the Federals at Basic High School as they finish out their regular season. The Saints meanwhile will look to finish the regular season a perfect 7-0 when they take on the 49ers again in Friday night action at Ed Fountain Park. THE LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE HG FEDERALS 41-6 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK #8 The Las Vegas Saints earned their 2nd win of the weekend again in convincing fashion as they took down the Federals at Ed Fountain Park on Saturday afternoon. X'avion Smith scored 2 touchdowns to power the LV Saints to victory. Smith scored on 29 & 26 yard touchdowns runs and passed 47 yards to Isaac Godinez for another score. Richard Washington ran 20 yards for a touchdown and caught a 45 yard pass from QB Isaac Godinez for a TD. Sacario Pryor scored on a nice 55 yard run for the Saints last touchdown. The Federals lone touchdown was on a 15 yard run by Chase Wallin. The Saints offense rushed 172 yards with X'Avion Smith and Sacario Pryor combining for 121 yards. Saints QBS Isaac Godinez and Smith combined for 92 yards passing. Kiantae Whitaker had an interception for the Saints defense. The Federals offense was led by Chase Wallin and Damon Ford with a combined 87 yards rushing. The Saints have one final matchup next Friday night with the 49ers as they look to put a bow on the Bantam Division #1 seed. The Federals meanwhile draw a battle with the Wolf Pack at Basic High School next Saturday afternoon as they hope to march into the playoffs on a winning streak. THE BG GATORS DEFEATD THE HG WOLF PACK 19-0 AT SILVERADO HS The Bishop Gorman Gators earned a very important win Saturday at Silverado High School as they chomped down on the Wolf Pack for a shutout victory. Jaiden Yarber scored 2 touchdowns to lead the BG Gators to a fine victory. Yarber scored on runs of 7 & 16 yards, and Drias Bellamy scored on a 10 yard run. The Gators rushed for 143 yards with Jaiden Yarber, Dionn Whittaker, Drias Bellamy, and Johnathan Emelo Jr combining for the total. The Gators defense did a great job limiting the Wolf Pack to 64 yards of total offense. The Wolf Pack was led by Noah Childress and Trevaughn Mcallister with a combined 64 yards rushing. The Wolf Pack couldn’t quite get their offense going against the stingy Gators defense. The Gators will look to finish with another win and climb the Bantam Division ranks heading into the playoffs with their matchup against the Ducks. April 25th, 2015 THE 702 49ERS DEFEATED THE BG GATORS 20-18 AT BASIC HIGH SCHOOL In a fantastic back and forth showdown at Basic High School, the 49ers had just enough to take down the Gators to earn a huge victory. Quinton Larry scored the game winning touchdown in the 4th quarter to lead the 49ers to a big win. Larry sprinted 51 yards for the score and Branko Hansell – Foto made a 2 point kick to seal the victory. The Gators took a 6-0 lead in the 1st quarter on a 22 yard pass to Jordan Morency from QB Johnathan Emelo Jr. The 49ers tied the game at 6-6 on a 14 yard run by Malik Stinnett. In the 3rd quarter the 49ers scored on a 55 yard run by Kanai Keanini-Smith for a 12-6 lead. The Gators would answer right back with 58 yard run by Dionn Whittaker for a 12-12 tie score. In the 4th quarter Quinton Larry scored and Branko Hansell Foto made the crucial 2 point kick for a 20-12 lead. The Gators roared back as Dionn Whittaker flew 69 yards for a touchdown and the 49ers led 20-18. The Gators 2 point conversion failed and the 49ers prevailed. The 49ers defense played well and Lonzo Ausage had a big game with 2 interceptions. The Gators offense rushed for 238 yards with Dionn Whittaker accounting for 162 yards. THE DS PREDATORS DEFEATED THE HG WOLF PACK 20-6 AT DEL SOL HIGH SCHOOL The Del Sol Predators looked to be in championship form Saturday afternoon as they took down the Wolf Pack at Del Sol High School. Logan Britt ran for a 55 yard touchdown and rushed for 114 yards to lead the Predators to victory. Marcos Kemp scored on 35 yard run and Julio Cobos also scored on a 35 yard run for the Predators. The Wolf Pack lone score was on a 30 yard pass from QB Ashton Bond. The Predators offense produced 202 yards rushing behind great blocking by their offensive line. They were led by Logann Britt with 114 yards and Julio Cobos and Marcos Kemp combined for 76 yards. The Predators defense played very well making 3 QB sacks, 2 by Brendan Mills and Marcos Kemp had a fumble recovery. The Wolf Pack struggled to run against the Predators tenacious defense gaining only 16 yards rushing. QB Ashton Bond provided some spark on offense passing for 36 yards. The Predators will look to stay on the hunt on Friday and Saturday as they get a double dip of games against the Ducks and 49ers. April 18th, 2015 THE 702 49ERS DEFEATED THE HG FEDERALS 20-6 AT ED FOUNTAIN FIELD 6 ON 4/17 The Federals and 49ers clashed in Friday night action at Ed Fountain Park in some fantastic Bantam Division action. The Federal took a 6-0 1st quarter lead on a 4 yard TD pass to Cole Reed Jr. from QB Aiden O'Marra. The 49ers dug deep and found the gold in the 2nd quarter on a 48 yard run by Kanai Keanini-Smith, and with a 1 point conversion led 7-6. Just before the half the 49ers still in a good pay streak, scored on a 50 yard TD pass to Quinten Larry from QB Krisyann Esteron for a 13-6 lead. The 49ers with great defense held that lead until the 4th quarter when Quinten Larry scored on a 56 yard run putting the game on ice. The 49ers offense was led by Kanai Keanini-Smith and Quinten Larry with a combined 110 yards rushing. The 49ers defense played well, and had 3 QB sacks in the game. The Federals offense was led by Tyler Reed and Cole Reed Jr. with a combined 49 yards rushing. Reed Jr. also had 4 receptions for 30 yards and Aiden O'Marra had 43 yards passing. The 49ers will look to stay hot and earn another win next time out when they take on the Gators at Basic High School in what should be a great battle. The Federals meanwhile played hard but will have a bye this week to work the kinks out of the system. THE DS PREDATORS DEFEATED THE BG GATORS 19-8 AT ED FOUNTAIN FIELD 8 The Predators earned a big victory Saturday afternoon at Ed Fountain Park in the Bantam Division to get on track and prove that they do belong in the category of title contenders yet again this Spring 2015 season. Julio Cobos scored 2 touchdowns to lead the Predators to a big win. The Gators led 8-0 in the 2nd quarter on a fumble recovery by Mason Tryon that he returned for a score. The Predators came right back with an outstanding 80 yard run by Julio Cobos and trailed just 8-7. After a scoreless 3rd quarter with both teams playing great defense, the Predators scored in the 4th quarter on a 20 yard run by Cobos for a 13-8 lead. The Predators continued to play great defense and they scored an insurance TD on a brilliant 80 yard run by Tobin Wagge. The Predators offense rushed for 238 yards with Julio Cobos gaining 134 yards. Their offensive line did a great job opening huge holes for their running backs. On defense for the Predators Marcos Kemp recovered a fumble and Edward Cox II had an interception. The Gators played well and were led on offense by Drais Bellamy with 66 yards rushing. THE HG WOLF PACK DEFEATED THE LV DUCKS 30-6 AT BASIC HS The Henderson Wolf Pack howled their way to the winners circle at Basic High School as they took down the Las Vegas Ducks. Ashton Bond and Trevaughn McAllister each scored 2 touchdowns to lead the Wolf Pack to victory. Bond scored on runs of 40 & 2 yards and McAllister scored on 70 & 15 yard runs. The Wolf Pack defense also got in the scoring with a safety. The Ducks lone touchdown was scored on a 50 yard pass to Govene Ortega from QB Luis Lovo. The Wolf Pack rushed for 226 yards with Trevaughn McAllister gaining 105 yards and Ashton Bond rushing for 91 yards. For the Wolf Pack defense Ashton Bond and Gavin Bibiano recovered fumbles. April 11th, 2015 THE DS PREDATORS DEFEATED THE HG FEDERALS 24-6 AT DEL SOL HS The Predators and Federals clashed at Del Sol High School jockeying for position in the Bantam Division Standings here in week #3 of the Spring 2015 season. Julio Cobos scored 2 touchdowns to lead the Predators to a nice victory in the end. Cobos scored on a nifty 62 yard run in the 1st quarter and a 40 yard scamper in the 2nd quarter. Also getting into the act for the Predators was Kobe Hendricks who scored on a 27 yard run and Devon Singleton scored on a 12 yard run for the Predators. The Federals lone touchdown was scored by Damon Ford on a short run. The Predators offensive line did a great job blocking as they rushed for 183 yards as a team with Julio Cobos gaining 124 yards. The Predators defense played very well as they were able to hold the Federals offense under 100 yards of total offense in the contest. Their defense was aggressive causing 2 fumbles and 4 QB sacks. Marcos Kemp recovered a fumble, as did Tobin Wagge who also had 2 QB sacks. The Federals offense was led by Damon Ford and Cole Reed Jr with a combined 53 yards rushing. The Federals played hard and showed promise at times with their offense but couldn’t crack the tough nut that was the Predators defense. The Predators will look to building on their first win of the season next time out when they take on the BG Gators in what should be a great battle of 1-1 teams. The Federals meanwhile will look to reboot their offense next time out when they take on the 702 49ers in Friday night lights action! THE LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE BG GATORS 32-0 AT ED FOUNTAIN PARK FIELD 8 The Las Vegas Saints came out and looked dominant yet again here in the Bantam Division taking down the BG Gators in impressive fashion at Ed Fountain Park this past weekend. Richard Washington ran for 2 touchdowns and caught a pass for another to power the Saints to victory. In the 1st half Washington scored on runs of 18 & 7 yards to get the Saints out to an early lead. In the 4th Quarter he caught a 40 yard pass from QB Issac Godinez for a score to cap his fantastic day. Andrew Soriano scored on a nice 50 yard run in the 4th quarter and Joseph Williams scored on a 20 yard run for their Saints. The Saints offense rushed 159 yards with Williams and Soriano combining for 105 yards. The Saints defense played great limiting the Gators to very little offense. Jayden Price recovered a fumble for the Saints defense. The Gators could muster little offense against the Saint defense, but played hard throughout the game. Johnathan Emelo Jr had an interception on defense for the Gators as he hopes to have his Gators bounce back next weekend when they take on the Predators. The Saints meanwhile go into their bye week riding high thanks to their 3-0 record. THE 702 49ERS DEFEATED THE LV DUCKS 42-6 AT LIBERTY HS The 702 49ers certainly found gold in their first game out of Spring break as they soundly defeated the Las Vegas Ducks at Liberty High School. Kanai Keanini-Smith scored 2 touchdowns to lead the Silverado 702 49ers to the gold. Keanini-Smith scored on 6 & 60 yard runs in the 1st quarter and Matthew Hermann rambled 73 yards for a TD as well. Hermann also passed 43 yards to Ronnie Hinkle for a TD in the 3rd quarter. Also getting into the scoring act for the 49ers was Dyson Kaahui ran 41 yards for a touchdown and Malik Stinnett scored on a 25 yard run in the 4th quarter for the 49ers. The Ducks only score was on a nice 51 yard run by Khalon White. The 49ers had no problem finding room to run as they piled up 233 yards rushing behind great blocking by their offensive line. The offense was led by Matthew Hermann with 73 yards rushing and 48 yards passing. The 49ers defense was all over the field creating 5 turnovers. Nicolas Stemm recovered a fumble and Lonzo Ausage, Ethan Phillips, and Kayl Maack (2) had interceptions. The Ducks offense was led by Khalon White with 73 yards rushing. The 49ers will look to keep the wins coming on Friday night when they take on the Federals at Ed Fountain Park. The Ducks meanwhile will attempt to flap their wings for their first victory next weekend when they take on the Henderson Wolf Pack at Basic High School. March 28th, 2015 THE LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE 702 49ERS 20-6 AT SILVERADO HS The Las Vegas Saints have quickly raced out to a 2-0 record in the Bantam Division as they were able to take down the 702 49ers at Silverado High School. The LV Saints used a steady ground game and a smothering defense to take down the 49ers. In the 1st quarter the Saints scored on a nice 59 yard run by Joseph Williams for a 7-0 lead. In the 2nd quarter they increased their lead to 14-0 on an 8 yard run by Jason Wiley. In the 3rd quarter the Saints scored on a 5 yard pass to Jayden Price from QB Issac Godinez for a 20-0 lead. The 49ers got on the board in the 4th quarter on a beautiful 60 yard pass to Quinten Larry from QB Matthew Hermann but in the end it wasn’t enough as the Saints improved to 2-0 with the win. The Saints pounded the rock for 183 yards with Joseph Williams gaining 80 yards in an impressive showing. The 49ers were led by Quinten Larry with 60 yards receiving in the contest. The Saints head into the off week looking an impressive 2-0 with time to look ahead and prepare for the Gators at Ed Fountain. The 49ers meanwhile will regroup for their matchup with the Ducks next time out. THE HG WOLF PACK DEFEATED THE HG FEDERALS 14-6 AT BASIC HS Don’t look now folks, but the Wolf Pack is howling their way through Spring Break as they sit pretty at 2-0 after this past weekend’s victory over the Henderson Federals. The Wolf Pack scored on a 3 yard run by Ashton Bond in the 1st quarter and with the 2 point conversion they led 8-0 which proved to be enough to win the game. The Wolf Pack went up 14-0 in the 2nd quarter on a 40 yard run by Trevaughn Mcallister. The Federals attempted a comeback in the 4th quarter and scored on a 3 yard run by Maddox Baker, but it was a little too late as the Wolf Pack had just enough to hold on. The Wolf Pack was led by Trevaughn McAllister with 76 yards rushing while Noah Childress and Marcellus Moore combined for 69 yards rushing. On defense Trevaughn McAllister had an interception and Wesley Steele recovered a fumble for the Wolf Pack. The Federals were led by Damon Ford on offense with 71 yards rushing. The Wolf Pack will have 2 weeks off thanks to the off week and bye week, so they will be riding high and extra focused when they do come back to action. The Federals meanwhile have shown to be a tough team and will look to focus even more next week when they take on the Del Sol Predators next time around. THE BG GATORS DEFEATED THE LV DUCKS 32-0 AT LIBERY HS The Gators had to wait a long time for their first game, but their performance was well worth the wait as they defeated the Ducks in impressive fashion to jump out to a 2-0 record. Dionn Whittaker scored 2 touchdowns to lead the BG Gators to victory this time around. Whittaker scored on runs of 20 & 70 yards while Tyler Bunker scored on a 45 yard run. Other Gators getting into the scoring act included Angelo Kambala on a 42 yard pass from QB Johnathan Emelo Jr and Maliki Moore had a pick 6. The Gators offense rushed for 248 yards behind great blocking by their offensive line. They were led by Dionn Whittaker with 94 yards and Jaiden Yarber, Tyler Bunker, and Drais Bellamy combined for 158 yards rushing. The Gators defense was solid with Daemon Hopkins, and Jaiden Yarber recovering fumbles. They limited the Ducks offense to 51 total yards for the game. The Ducks played hard and gave it their all and were led on offense by Luis Lovo and Khalon White with a combined 47 yards rushing. The Gators will look to stay hot after Spring Break for their big matchup with the Las Vegas Saints. The Ducks meanwhile hope to get their wings back flapping against the wind when they take on the 702 49ers in their next contest. March 21st, 2015 THE LV SAINTS DEFEATED THE DS PREDATORS 33-0 AT DEL SOL HS The season kicked off with a bang for the Las Vegas Saints as they managed to march all over the Predators at Del Sol High School and make a major statement in doing so. X'Avion Smith took the opening kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown and also scored on a 56 yard run to lead the Saints to victory. Jason Wiley romped 65 yards in the 2nd quarter for the Saints en route to the big victory over the defending champions. Their defense played tremendous, completely shutting down the Predators offense that really seemed to struggle without their MVP Logann Britt. Andrew Soriano recovered a fumble for the Saints defense. The Predators played hard and did their best but came up short here in week #1. Tobin Wagge played a fine game for the Predator defense and recovered a fumble in the process. The Saints will look to keep marching next weekend when they take on the 49ers at Silverado High School while the Predators will look to get back on track after a bye week and the off week on April 11th. THE HG WOLF PACK DEFEATED THE 702 49ERS 14-12 AT BASIC HS The Wolf Pack opened up their season with a very slim victory over the 702 49ers and Basic High School. Ashton Bond scored 2 touchdowns including the game winner in the 2nd quarter to lead the Wolf Pack to a big win. The 49ers took a 6-0 lead in the 1st quarter on a 45 yard run by Dyson Kaahui. The Wolf Pack tied the score at 6-6 on Ashton Bonds 12 yard run. In the 2nd quarter the Wolf Pack scored on Ashton Bonds 25 yard run, and they made a key 2 point conversion for a 14-6 lead. Later in the 2nd quarter the 49ers scored on a fabulous 65 yard kickoff return by Branko Hansell- Foto to cut the lead down to 2 points. However, their try for a 2 point conversion was no good, and they trailed 14-12. The second half the defenses were the stars of the game, as both teams failed to score, and the Wolf Pack held on for victory. The Wolf Pack offensive line did a great job clearing the way for their 242 yards rushing. Noah Childress led the running attack with 125 yards and Ashton Bond added 57 yards. The 49ers were led by Kanai Keanini-Smith with 62 yards rushing in the contest. The Wolf Pack will look to howl out another victory next weekend when they take on the Henderson Federals at Basic High School while the 49ers will look to find a golden victory back at Silverado High School when they take on the Saints. THE HG FEDERALS DEFEATED THE LV DUCKS 14-6 AT CIMARRON HS In a close low scoring battle, the Federals were able to march their way to a week 1 victory over the Las Vegas Ducks at Cimarron High School. Cole Reed Jr had a big game as he passed for 1 touchdown and rushed for another to lead the Federals to victory. Reed Jr passed 26 yards to Aiden O'marra for a TD and ran 9 yards for the other Federals score. The Ducks kept the game close and scored on a 40 yard run by Khalon White. The Federals offense was led by Reed Jr with 50 yards rushing and 54 yards passing. Aiden O'marra was Reeds favorite target catching all 3 passes for 54 yards. The Ducks offense was led by Khalon White with 69 yards rushing. On defense for the Federals Cole Reed Jr recovered a fumble, as did Mikai White for the Ducks. The Federals will look to get to 2-0 on the season when they take on the Wolf Pack next weekend at Basic High school while the Ducks will look to quack their way into the win column against the BG Gators at Liberty High School.
