Cross Country / Running Club
The Cross Country team competed at District Cross Country at Bald Hill Park
on Tuesday 19th May. Oakleigh South PS has a great history of doing well at
Cross-Country, but Tuesday’s results were the best for many years. Of the 6
Age ( M/F ) Groups, Oakleigh South won 5. This guaranteed the School was
the overall winner and the school won the District Shield for the 12th time in
a row.
The children ran extremely well and we had 5 individual winners – Jessica
Ingleby, Ben Cantwell, Clare Latella, Stasi Goergakopoulos and Chloe
Gorman. These children along with another 25 children, who finished in the
top 8, will compete at the upcoming Division Cross Country. These children
will have their names published in next week’s newsletter.
The school is very grateful to the dedication of Mr Rowe and Mr Barker who
have set up a fantastic before school Running Club. Mr Alston has also
supported this group.
Thank you to the fabulous parents who provide breakfast for the children
after running club each week.

marquees on the day.
