CURRICULUM VITAE Dr. Kiran Saldanha Kiran Saldanha is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. His field of interest is in Trauma and Limb Reconstruction but also has an elective Orthopaedic practice in Lower limb including Hip, Knee and Foot and Ankle Surgery. After Medical graduation and MS(Orth) in India he worked on the island of Bermuda while completing FRCS(Surgery in general) from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He then moved to United Kingdom and enrolled in the Mersey Orthopaedic training programme leading to FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics). He completed his Fellowship in Limb Reconstruction at Sheffield Children’s Hospital before taking up the post of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Liverpool. He currently works in Whiston Hospital, St Helens Hospital and Fairfield Independent Hospitals in Liverpool. Whiston hospital is the main tertiary Plastic Surgery referral centre for the North West part of England and Northern half of Wales. Due to this vast catchment area, the hospital receives a large number of patients requiring management of complex limb trauma and limb reconstruction using a joint Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery techniques. Apart from a busy Clinical practice he is actively involved in teaching and training. Whiston and St Helens NHS Hospitals are teaching hospitals for the University of Liverpool Medical School. He holds an honorary post with the University of Liverpool and is closely involved in Undergraduate training. He is also Educational Supervisor for all Orthopaedic trainees posted in the hospital.
