My biography
I am a full time Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sheffield Children's Hospital NHS trust and a
honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Sheffield, U.K.. I completed my undergraduate medical
training at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore and my orthopaedic postgraduate training at Kasturba
Medical College, Manipal and M R Medical college,Gulbarga and subsequently worked as Lecturer at
St.John's medical College.
I furthered my orthopaedic training in UK in the Liverpool and Sheffield Rotations, with further
qualifications of M.Ch orth and FRCS Orth. I worked as a senior registrar at the prestigious Alder Hey
Hospital Liverpool and a double fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics and limb reconstruction at the
Sheffield Children’s hospital. My special interests are in Limb Reconstruction, DDH,Skeletal dysplasias
with adult foot and ankle surgery in the private One Health Group, Sheffield.
I am the current President of the British Limb Reconstruction Society, Secretary of the World ASAMI-BR,
Treasurer of the UK Skeletal Dysplasia Group, Member at large of the British Society of Children's
Orthopaedic Surgery and a senior Examiner at the Intercollegiate Board Examinations for the FRCS Tr &
Orth. I was the departmental lead in previous years and the Academic,Training Programme Director and
Chairman of the South Yorkshire T&O rotation for 6 years. There have been numerous papers and
chapters in textbooks published in peer reviewed literature and research links with University of
Sheffield.
