The carnival was an outstanding success with fantastic participation from all children. It was also wonderful to see so many parents, grandparents and family members cheering. Special thanks to Mr Freshwater for organising the event and to everyone who contributed to the day in any way. Well done to Green Faction who won for the fourth consecutive year. It was good to see the other factions were snapping at their heals! Respect ~ Cooperation ~ Responsibility ~ Tolerance ~ Resilience ~ Excellence Lollypop Crossing News Thank you to all the children who are now walking their bikes and scooters through the Lollypop Crossing. Chris, our new Lollypop Lady, has described Ocean Road Primary School students as very polite and well mannered – great job everyone! Please be reminded that the process for crossing the road is for Chris to raise the two flags and then give two short whistle blasts before anyone can commence their crossing. Stay safe! Nature Play Update As you can see we are making steady progress in the nature play areas. The pre-primary students are having a delightful time stretching their imaginations and creating fantasies in their new fairy garden. In the coming weeks a chicken coop will be arriving for the Year 1 area and we will be installing three water tanks. One for the middle primary water feature, one for the junior primary wet area and the third will provide water for the tropical garden bed. We also have plans for an Aquaponics area for the upper primary students to enjoy and learn from. These are exciting times at Ocean Road. As you may be aware Mrs Finlay and I will be taking three weeks Long Service Leave from this Thursday (The WA Government has mandated that all employees must take their leave within a given time frame). Ms Lay will be Principal during my absence. Attached to this News Flash is the Education Department’s latest Consent Form. It covers a range of activities and will decrease the number of forms you will have to complete in the future. Can you please complete and return to the front office ASAP.
