Director of Campus Ministry
Position Summary
The Director of Campus Ministry at Scecina Memorial High School provides a comprehensive
school-wide spiritual ministry program to all students, faculty, and staff, including school
workshop experiences, character formation education, leadership development, on-going faith
formation initiatives, community enhancing events, and outreach to families. The Director of
Campus Ministry works in collaboration with the President, Principal, Chaplain Coordinator,
faculty, staff and students to give form to the Catholic Identity of Scecina Memorial High
School. The Campus Minister reports directly to the Principal in the implementation of Campus
Ministry programs.
Requirements
Applicant should be a practicing Catholic with a bachelor’s degree in Theology or similar field.
A minimum of one year experience working in Campus Ministry at a Catholic high school or
related Youth Ministry setting is preferred.
Schedule:
 Five days a week during the school year with flexible time schedule to accommodate
after school, evening, or weekend activities.
 Some weekend/week trip responsibilities in the summer such as One Bread One Cup,
Notre Dame Vision, and Homeland Mission.
 Summer office hours.
Responsibilities:
 Work with all members of the school community to develop and implement all aspects of
ministry: student faith formation, liturgical and communal prayer, and action in service of
social justice;
 Coordinate the preparation of all-school worship opportunities;
 Train and coordinate student ministers for all worship opportunities;
 Provide on-going vision, development, and coordination of the Scecina Service Program;
 Provide on-going vision, development, and coordination of all retreat programming;
 Provide on-going vision, development, coordination, and facilitation of faith-sharing
opportunities for students, faculty, and staff which focus on Scripture, community, and
prayer, including leading Emmaus student group;
 Form and facilitate a team of faculty and staff to assist a Campus Ministry Team;
 Serve as a resource to faculty and staff to support the integration of mission and the
Catholic identity of Scecina Memorial High School through all aspects of school life;
 Conduct an annual evaluation of all Campus Ministry programs;
 Uphold, model, and promote a moral standard which is consistent with the teachings of
the Roman Catholic Church and the mission of Scecina Memorial High School;
 Create and maintain pastoral relationships that encourage the development of a
community of faith within the school community,







Maintain the school chapel through the preparation and monitoring of inventories and
related ordering of necessary materials and supplies;
Recommend and implement new programs to meet the spiritual needs of Scecina
Memorial High School;
Engage in on-going professional development activities in the area of high school
Campus Ministry/Service/Community Service Learning;
Participate in Archdiocesan Youth/Campus Minister meetings and events and maintain
dialogue with the Office of Youth Ministry;
Work with the Guidance Department, especially in emergency situations, to provide
spiritual perspective to students in need;
Serve as a member of the School Leadership Team;
Serve as staff liaison to the Mission Effectiveness Committee of the Board of Directors.
