What is Gastech Young Engineer
Foundation (GYEF)?
Launched in Korea 2014, Gastech Young
Engineer Foundation (GYEF) is a Gastech
initiative that supports the next generation
of engineers who are moving the industry
forward. Recognising the growing need to
attract young talents into the industry to fill
the skills gap, GYEF seeks to acknowledge
and support young energy professionals who
will eventually become the industry’s future
leaders.
Objectives:
Promote local development of the next
generation of leaders in the energy
industry
Bolster the professional development of
engineers currently in the early stages of
their careers in the gas industry
Increase opportunities for networking
for young engineers

Criteria for engineers participating:
Possess a minimum of 1 year and no more
than 3 years full-time employment in the
energy sector from the date of application
Currently an employee in the energy
sector which can be verified by at least
one senior manager. Energy sector

*Organisations financially support their young
engineers to attend Gastech. Selected young
engineers will have free access/admission to all
Gastech Conference, Exhibition, delegate lunch,
attendance to selected social functions and access to
Gastech Papers and Presentations (post event)
Abstract Submission:
Young engineers may enter an essay
competition by submitting a 2000 word
abstract - the winner of the competition
will present their essay in the main
conference programme on the last day of
Gastech.
Topic: Please give your views on the
challenges the gas industry will face in
the next 20 years. Please indicate the
stream you are focusing on – upstream,
midstream and/or downstream.
