SPRING 2015 COURSE INSTRUCTORSHIP EMERGENCY JOB POSTING Course: Lecture Time: HPS283H1 THE ENGINEER IN HISTORY MONDAYS & THURSDAYS 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Course Description The emphasis in this course will be more on the history of engineers as workers, members of professional groups, and managers rather than engineering proper, although obviously engineering cannot be ignored when we talk about engineers’ work. The aim of the course is to give an understanding of the heritage of engineers as participants in the economy and society. Start Date: January 12, 2015 Ending: April 30, 2015 Estimated course enrolment: ~ 92 students Stipend: 7,114.65 (including 4% vacation pay) Qualifications: Upper year graduate student in history of science and/or technology. Good communications skills and ability to give feedback on writing. Experience dealing with engineering students an asset. Description of Duties: Compose and deliver lectures. Assign readings and tests. Supervise TAs.
