Preparing for ministry in a pluralistic world Scholarship Announcement – Ecumenical Institute at Bossey Presbyterians have long been leaders in the ecumenical movement. This has to do with our belief that Jesus’ prayer for the his church, that we may be One is a vocational call for all Christians, in addition the foundations of our polity recognize that the Presbyterian Church is not the whole expression of the Christian church. The World Council of Churches’ Ecumenical Institute at Bossey has been forming Christian leaders, including Presbyterians like Rev. Randall Boggs, Dr.Cláudio Carvalhaes, Dr. Heidi Hadsell, and Rev. Aimee Moiso and others since it’s founding in 1946. Dr. Eugene Carson Blake, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the United Presbyterian Church in the USA from 1951-­‐1958, made a mark on the ecumenical movement with his sermon calling on a reunion of the Church. He went on to serve as General Secretary of the World Council of Churches from 1966-­‐1972. After Eugene Carson Blake’s death, individuals came Memorial Service for JFK.
