wrong sides together so that long edges meet;
press. Open, then fold one long edge 1/2" to the
wrong side; press.
5. With right sides together, lay gathered edge of
tutu skirt on top of flat edge of waistband and
distribute gathers evenly; sew (Dia. C). Note:
Satin skirt will extend 1/2" on each side of

6. Fold pressed edge of waistband over to the wrong side of skirt and line up pressed
edge with seam; baste. On right side of waistband, topstitch along the bottom edge
and again close to the top edge (Dia. D).
7. Sew side edges. Tip: Pin edges of tulle away from the edges of satin skirt to avoid
catching them in the seam. Note: This is the back seam of the tutu skirt.
9. To make a flower using four circles, fold each circle into quarters and secure
the folds by hand stitching through all layers at the folded point. Sew the four
folded circles together at the points to create the flower (Dia. E). Repeat for
remaining circles to create a total of ten flowers.
10. Insert nine flowers into the folded layers of tulle through the back opening
and place as desired. Hand stitch the back of the flowers to the tulle.
