What is OKC-GO?
The OKC-GO program is designed to remove some of the
financial barriers that might limit a student’s ability to
succeed in college. The program is exclusive to OCCC and
serves graduates from Oklahoma City and Western Heights
public high schools. Eligible students can attend OCCC
tuition free for up to 3 years, or 61 college credit hours.
Additionally, students have access to learning labs, personal
mentoring, and leadership building opportunities.
Who is eligible?
Students who graduate from an Oklahoma City or Western
Heights public high school and start college at OCCC in the
following academic year are eligible for OKC-GO.
How do I apply?
Students should apply to the program as early as possible
in the spring semester of their senior year, but no later
than July 1st. Applications are available in your high school
counselor’s office and in the OCCC Office of Recruitment
and Admissions. Applicants must also complete and submit
a FAFSA application (Free Application for Federal Student
Aid) in order to be eligible for the program. This form is
available online at www.fafsa.gov.
Does OKC-GO also pay for my fees
and books?
No. However, many students who apply will also be
eligible for other types of financial aid. By filling out and
submitting the FAFSA application, the student can ensure
that any additional financial aid awarded can be used to pay
for fees and books. Students who find themselves unable
to cover the costs of their fees and books should visit with
an OCCC admissions advisor.

Are there requirements for continuing in the
OKC-GO program?
Yes. Once a student has been approved for the program,
certain academic requirements must be maintained in order
to continue receiving funding. Students must enroll in a
minimum of 6 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters,
and successfully complete at least 66% of their coursework
with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Attendance during summer
semesters is optional, but GPA and completion standards
remain the same.
