Nyck Jeanes - Streets of Adelaide

MUSIC, PR & MARKETING Musical Bio
Nyck Jeanes is a singer songwriter and long term Byron Bay resident.
Streets of Adelaide is his fourth studio album. The title track is a personal
ballad written for his father, a war hero and will be released for the 100th
anniversary of Anzac Day. His music is heartfelt and inspiring and delivered
in a rich and powerful way. “There’s something in your music, in the lyrics
that really speaks from a deeper place than most”, says Paul Gomersall (Kate
Bush, Sinead O’Connor, Phil Collins).
Nyck’s early years were spent busking on the streets of Paris and
collaborating with travelling musicians in Austria, where he recorded his
first album in 1980 on cassette tape – a collection of songs written for his
daughter, Skye. It didn’t take long for Nyck to move on from playing in
bands and duo’s in hometown Adelaide and then in Cairns, to settle into a
life time love affair with writing and producing original songs. Most of his
songs are written or inspired by family, lovers or friends, music is a personal
thing for Nyck.
In 2006 he formed a duo with his wife, Rachel Zinman– Subway Bhaktis –
and together they produced 2 studio albums and an EP to great acclaim and
worldwide distribution. Sita Ram won three North Coast Music Industry
awards and begun a collaboration with Grammy-nominated producer,
Kamal Engels. Nyck and Kamal have produced a number of songs together
that also appear on the Streets of Adelaide 6-track EP.
Right from his first recordings, musicians can’t help but get on board,
inspired by his concepts, heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies. Nyck's diverse
musical collaborations include: jazz pianists; flugelhorn and New York
accordion maestros; young upcoming folk and indigenous musicians, to top
