Easter Festival 2015 Newsletter

THE ST STITHIANS’ EASTER SPORTS FESTIVAL 2015 PROMISES TO BE THE BEST YET!
The largest and oldest schools sports festival in South Africa has always had a reputation for being the best, but this
year we have truly outdone ourselves. Not only are we offering the very best in sporting talent, top musicians and a
superior dining experience at the Easter Sports Festival, but we have added a Prep Sports Festival which takes place
the weekend before, on the 26-28 March.
Rector Tim Nuttall is proud of the way the annual Festival has become a must-attend event, with over 20 000
visitors. “This year we have attracted 47 top sporting schools from across South Africa, as well as Zimbabwe, Namibia
and as far away as the United Kingdom.”
This family event boasts two concerts where popular DJs and musicians will be strutting their stuff, hospitality
venues offer a relaxing escape from the heat, scrumptious meals will be served at the Saints’ Supporters Pavilion with the added bonus of a beautiful view!- and there are supervised safe areas for children from 4-10 where they
will be kept entertained.
There’s something for everyone….
FOR THE SPORTS FANS there’s a veritable feast of action. At the Prep Sports Festival there will be night rugby on the
Wayne Joubert field and night netball on the Girls’ courts, for the nights of 26th – 28th March. The main Easter
Festival will see over 1 200 participants in Rugby, Hockey, Tennis, Squash, Netball and Basketball encounters.
IF MUSIC AND DANCING IS YOUR SCENE, get ready to be totally blown away! Industry icon DJ Fresh will show yet
again why he is amongst the top DJs in the country; The Kiffness is a duo from Cape Town fast becoming one of
South Africa’s favourite live electronic acts; The Illustrators, a local duo, will play their latest chart-hitting single
‘Celebration’; and the highly popular Pascal & Pearce, also from Cape Town, will get your body moving to the
beat…….
The ‘Concert 4U’ events, sponsored by Vodacom 4U, are on Thursday April 2nd and Saturday April 4th. The Illustrators
and DJ Fresh will make their appearance on Thursday, while Saturday will rock to the sounds of The Kiffness and
Pascal & Pearce. However, it isn’t just the well-known stars that make an appearance. Highly talented ‘stars-in-themaking’ will also take to the stage.
