Charter
The OneIT Program Office will provide operational oversight of OneIT efforts.

Increase the efficiency of IT service delivery with minimal impact to end user service quality.
Provide transparent and flexible IT services and projects.
Deliver OneIT projects that meet OneIT, University of Iowa, and Board of Regents expectations
for efficiency, cost savings, schedule, and investment.
Engage campus for input and support before and during OneIT projects.
Governance
The Program Office is sponsored by the Chief Information Officer, with guidance and oversight provided
by the OneIT Steering Committee.
Composition
The OneIT Steering Committee will include three staff appointed by the Chief Information Officer.
Additional staff will be added by appointed Program Office leaders as needed.
Key Responsibilities

OneIT Project Operational Oversight
o Develop TIER program timeline; develop project plans and timelines with project leaders
o Ensure adherence to project charters, i.e. decisions that clarify but don’t change scope
o Ensure consistency in project delivery
o Oversee OneIT project managers
o Define, collect and manage project deliverables including project documents, reports,
metrics
o Monitor and coordinate staff resource allocation and assignments across projects
o Identify quick wins
o Facilitate communications between project teams and steering committee

Facilitate Steering Committee Efforts

o Develop steering committee agendas and facilitate meetings (in concert with CIO)
o Represent OneIT project team leadership at steering committee; facilitate project team
interaction with steering committee as needed
o Keep Steering Committee abreast of OneIT project statuses

Manage External Communications
o Develop communications plan with CIO strategic communications office
o Assist strategic communications office with OneIT communications to campus, including
emails and website
o Facilitate town hall meetings and OneIT-wide advisory groups
•
Metrics and Reporting
o Coordinate time reporting function for OneIT projects
o Coordinate efforts to track cost savings and cost avoidance
o Monitor and manage HR staffing issues and changes
o Project-specific metrics
