After Prom Party!
The After Prom Party has been changed to “Operation
Graduation” and will be held at TopGolf on Wednesday, June
3, 2015. Check in will start at 11:30pm and students will be
released starting at 5:30am. Due to the three day holiday this
change in schedule will be more convenient for parents and
students. Tickets will go on sale in the school cafeteria during
lunches starting next week.

Library News!
Students – all library books are due May 29th. Please return
books and pay any late fees before May 29th. The library is a
place for you to begin you LIFE-LONG LEARNING, SO DON’T
FORGET THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OVER THE SUMMER! Not
sure what to read next? Stop by the Oak Ridge Library for a
summer reading list. Thanks for a great year!
Textbooks!
Now is the time of year to locate your textbooks and be ready to
turn them in. Lost textbooks will prevent students from
obtaining a VOE, parking spaces, attending prom and
graduation activities. So please have your student check under
the bed, in the closet, in the trunk of the car and at their
friend’s houses for any textbooks that may be checked out to
them. AP books should be turned in between May 18-22. All
other books will be turned in between May 26-29. Thanks as
always for your continued support.
End of Year - Locker Clean Out!
Locker clean out will begin on Monday, June 1 and Tuesday,
June 2. No backpacks will be allowed on Wednesday, June 3
and Thursday, June 4.
Summer VOE Requests!
If you are planning on taking Driver’s Education this summer,
you will need a VOE. To get a VOE you will need to go to your
Assistant Principal’s office and request one. You will also need
to go back to your AP’s office to pick up your VOE before your
last day of school. Please get on the VOE request list now.
Early Release Days!
We will have early release on Tuesday, June 2, Wednesday,
June 3 and Thursday, June 4 at 11:25am. Please remember that
on early release days you are not to visit any other campuses.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is administered by
the Texas Department of Agriculture. No form of identification
is required. Kids 18 years of age or under simply show up at
Houser or Ford Elementary for breakfast from 7:30am to
8:00am and for lunch from 11am to 12:30pm. Starting June 10
through July 2.
Oak Ridge HS Special Occasion Dress Code
As we approach the special occasions this spring, remember that
decorum counts. While planning for your upcoming event, please keep
the following attire standards in mind. If you have a question about what
to wear for these occasions, please check with a counselor, administrator
or event sponsor. Many of these are once-in-a-lifetime events and we
want them to be special for you.
Appropriate attire for Prom includes the following:

 T w o -piece dresses must overlap. No midriff may show when arms are
raised.
 M e s h , s e e -through, and revealing cut-outs will not be allowed.

dress may not go below natural waist.

Senior Information!
The Oak Ridge High School Class of 2015 will graduate at 7:30
p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Cynthia Woods
Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands. Graduates will be
required to arrive at 6:40 p.m. Each graduate will receive 7
tickets for guests to sit in the seated area. Unlimited seating is
available on the lawn and tickets are not necessary for lawn
seating. Caps and gowns will be distributed to each graduate
immediately following the graduation meeting and preliminary
practice on Tuesday, June 2. This graduation practice is at
8:00 a.m. in the old gym and is required for all graduates. Also
required for all graduates is the on site graduation practice at
the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion at 9:00 a.m. on June 3.
Students will be bused to that practice. Tickets will be
distributed to all graduates upon our return to ORHS.
Students needing additional tickets will need to network to
make their own exchanges with others who may have more
tickets than they need. Oak Ridge High School will not provide
ticket exchange services. The ceremony will also be streamed
live online.
Graduation is a formal ceremony and appropriate attire is
required.
Blue jeans, tennis shoes & flip flops are not
permitted.
Boys - white dress shirt, tie, slacks, & dress shoes
Girls – dress or skirt & blouse, dress shoes;
For most girls, only shoes will be visible beneath the
graduation robe. Girls who wear slacks must wear dress
slacks with dress shoes.
Students’ personal items (cell phones, purses, cameras, etc)
must be left with family members for safekeeping.
No items can be taken to the graduate seating area at the
Pavilion.

Seating for handicapped guests at ORHS graduation can be

ACT or SAT!
Planning to take an ACT or SAT this year? Please remember
that a TEST TICKET and PHOTO ID are required when you
arrive to take your test. If you do not have a photo ID, you can
have a student ID made in the ORHS library PRIOR TO TEST
DAY. If you need to print your test ticket, you may print one in
the College and Career Center (B202) PRIOR TO TEST DAY!!
Driver License Attendance Verification
(Verification of Enrollment – VOE)
To obtain a driver’s license in the state of Texas, a student
between the ages of 15 and 18 must annually provide to the
Texas Department of Public Safety a form obtained from the
school verifying that the student has met the 90 percent
attendance requirement for the semester preceding the date of
application. The student can request this form at their
Assistant Principal’s office. Requests are typically processed
within 24-48 hours. Students should remember that buildings
are closed during spring and winter break as well as holidays
and should plan accordingly.
CONROE ISD CHECK ACCEPTANCE POLICY
In the event that a check written to Oak Ridge High School,
Cafeteria or District Office is returned unpaid by your bank,
Conroe ISD or its agent (CheckSmart Recovery) will redeposit
your check electronically. Additionally, you understand and
agree that we may electronically collect a returned check fee of
$30.00 plus applicable sales tax. The use of a check for
payment is your Acknowledgement and Acceptance of this
policy and its terms. You may reach CheckSmart Recovery at

JUNIORS! IT IS TIME TO REGISTER FOR CISD DESTINATION COLLEGE! Destination College will be June 11 from 8 AM – 4
PM at College Park High School. The Registration fee is $25 (payable to TWHS). The sessions will include: College
Applications, Essay Writing, Finding the Right Fit, How to Pay for College, College 101. There will be a student panel of
former students providing wonderful insight. There will also be a mini college fair to students and parents. Space is
