Marketing Manager(s) - International Orienteering Federation

Job Description
Position:
IOF Marketing Manager(s)
Responsibilities and tasks:






The overall responsibility for sales, marketing and promotion of one or more orienteering
disciplines internally (i.e. member federations) and externally (i.e. partners, sponsors, media
and other sports bodies)
Responsible together with the CEO and other Marketing Manager(s) for creating and
implementing strategic and tactical Sales, Marketing and Communications plans, i.e.
o Responsible for sales of sponsorship, partner and TV rights regarding the IOFs
portfolio of products
o Responsible for media contacts and marketing channels
o Responsible for effective communications through external channels
Responsible for working closely with Discipline Commissions within their area of responsibility
in the areas of Product Development and event quality assessment. However, technical
quality control resides with the Commissions and their Event Advisers.
Works closely with the Office Administrator and Sports Administrator in the areas of IOF
owned communications channels (website, mail, etc).
Works closely with the Regional Youth and Development Commission (RYDC) and Global
Development Officer in internal promotion work.
Works within the guidance of the IOF Strategy and Activity Plan
Requirements:





Broad sales and marketing experience preferably in international environment
Excellent communications skills in English
Effective communicator – knowledge of channels and methods
Good interpersonal skills – likes social and professional contact
Service professional – listens and makes all efforts to meet customer needs


Additional language skills desirable
Desirable with good overall knowledge of one or more orienteering disciplines
