NIGINAN HOUSING VENTURES-AMBROSE PLACE NOW HIRING AN OFFICE
MANAGER
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Office Manager will provide a vital link between
the staff, residents and any visitors. The Office Manager is also responsible for
processing rental applications and ongoing tenant management, general bookkeeping
and providing administrative assistance to the Executive Director and the Board of
Directors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

residential tenancy management, including processing rental agreements, collecting
and reconciling rent, issuing evictions, etc.
answering a multi-line phone system
filing, photocopying, managing mail, accept messenger and courier deliveries
greet people entering the building, answer questions and direct visitors to appropriate
people; and maintain a current record of staff members' whereabouts
answer and forward telephone calls; take messages and provide information
schedule appointments and meetings using paper and electronic calendars
book keeping skills (accounts receivable; balancing petty cash, cash sales, rent and
deposits)
perform other clerical duties such as word processing, compiling and recording data;
maintaining inventories; operating office equipment; and proofreading
provide administrative support services to the Executive Director and Board of
Directors

an understanding of people with brain injury, mental health, addiction issues
have a working knowledge of the Alberta Residential Tenancies Act
QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education:
A high school diploma and related training in Office Administration and/or Bookkeeping
Experience:

at least two years dealing with the public; computer experience; knowledge of
general office procedures
experience in basic bookkeeping (primarily accounts receivable)
moderate knowledge of landlord and tenant issues
experience working with individuals of aboriginal ancestry would be an asset
ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
ability to speak a Canadian Indigenous language is an asset
